We enjoyed the jungle scenery and seeing all the animals. Unfortunately it rained 6 out of 8 days. The food was mostly good but if you liked something on one day, it may be different the next time you go to that restaurant.

The place is big so, if walking is not your thing, stay away. To me, size of the property is a negative. Having xcaret park right next to it is a big plus, though. Food was ok for the price range. We were allowed to dine in a restaurant only 2 nights out of a 5 night stay. Other 3 nights were buffet dinners. A bit disappointing considering other resorts in similar price range allow for a restaurant choice every night. People mentioned weak shower water pressure and yes it's a thing. Shower worked but barely. If you don't care for encountering the wild life, stay away. We had several monkeys on our balcony frequently. That part didn't bother me but some may feel differently. You really have to visit Xcaret while here or this place doesn't make sense.

Great service. Literally walking distance from Xcaret. Everyone at the hotel made the stay even more special. It was beautiful and very convenient. Food was great too.

I had a mediocre experience. The buffet food was unseasoned and bland. The Stake House was also a bad experience. The meat cuts were certainly not the ones offered. It's fairly easy to know the difference between flank and Ribeye. The Oriental restaurant was certainly the only good food I tasted in the entire trip. The staff was extremely helpful, respectful and outgoing. By far one of my favorite parts of stay. The other one was the lagoon. That was amazing. I will not be returning. Too many thing were not to my liking.

This is a very nice place, it could use some repairs in certain areas, but overall it is a nice place. The tide pool and beach areas are very nice, some Mayan ruins to explore and a host of other things. Was our first trip to Mexico and will be coming back

Oct 2024, My family and I stayed one week at this resort. Each day in this room we had horrible water smell and brown water from the sink and shower. The water pressure fluctuated heavily. I had to double check this was listed as a 5 star resort. I have been to motel 8s with nicer rooms and cleaner water. The second night at the resort, we noticed water stains on the ceiling of our room along with drywall damage. We notified the staff. A reparman arrived and said "wow" he took a photo and left. No room change. The third night, we had a heavy rain storm. My room had a huge water leak, water poured in our room in two locations. The light socket above the tv, which poured water on my samsung tablet. The second leak was near the ac vent. This leak created a 5 foot puddle in the room, and the noise of the water splashing awoke me at 5am. The hotel staff changed our room. However, did not feel the need to compensate My family for our troubles. The new room was adequate but still had maintenance issues as the shower door did not close. Water leaking through electric outlets is extremely dangerous. I will not subject my family to this resort again. Something they don't tell you anywhere is the number of times you can have dinner at the restaurants depends on the nights you stay. We stayed one week and were allowed 4 dinner reservations.

Beautiful grounds. As a platinum VIP, I wasnt given any upgrades and was asked to pay for late checkout and declined for early checkin. I asked for a partial refund for a park pass I wasnt going to use due to rain. No help there either.

It’s a beautiful hotel that requires a lot of walking. Food is average staff was friendly at first but when we decided not to entertain the idea of booking with the Barcelo Group, the attitude changed towards us. The one thing I disliked the most is how insistent the staff was on promoting The Barcelo Group, insinuating several times that Expedia was ripping me off. Expedia customers do receive different treatment from The Barcelo Group customers.

An amazing stay at this resort. Food options are good, they have little shops for just about anything, and they offer free live music/performances. This resort is also a great place to stay if anyone is planning to visit Xcaret and Xplor parks.
