The food options for the price paid is a good value. The liquor options are sorely lacking. Nothing even average is offered. They can't even make drinks properly because they don't have the right liquors needed. The rooms really need updated. Only one outlet in the living area to charge electronics is woefully inadequate. The room cleaners need to stay put of people's stuff. I let them clean my room one day and they went through my stuff that was zipped up and closed. I did not get my room cleaned again for fear of stuff being stolen. That is completely unnecessary for guests to have to deal with. I've stayed at other Riu properties in the past, and this was the most disappointing experience compared to the others.

I recently spent 7 incredible days at Hotel Riu Cancún, and I can confidently say it was one of the best vacation experiences I’ve had. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed and taken care of. The hotel is stunning — modern, clean, and located right on a beautiful stretch of white-sand beach with crystal-clear turquoise water. The food was excellent, with a wide variety of options at the buffets and à la carte restaurants. Every meal felt like a treat. The all-inclusive service truly delivered — drinks, snacks, and entertainment were available around the clock. The pools were amazing, and the beach access was perfect for both relaxing and enjoying water activities. The entertainment team was energetic and friendly, organizing fun events and shows every night that made the stay even more memorable. My room was spacious, comfortable, and had an incredible view of the ocean. Housekeeping was consistent and respectful, keeping everything spotless. If I had to mention one thing that could improve, it might be the check-in process, which took a bit longer than expected — but that small delay was quickly forgotten once I settled in. Overall, I would highly recommend Hotel Riu Yucatan to anyone looking for a mix of relaxation, fun, great food, and beautiful surroundings. I left with my heart full and already dreaming of coming back.

We were supposed to stay at Yucatán but they updated us to Palace Mexico. PalaceQuiet , very clean resort with very friendly staff. Amazing views. They do a great job keeping the seaweed cleaned up. Food at buffet is average .

Pretty average hotel experience- don’t expect anything too luxurious. The aesthetic of the resort is outdated with an early 00s vibe, including the rooms which had almost florescent lighting and probably one of the least comfortable beds I’ve had in a hotel recently. Wouldn’t recommend for a solo traveler as it seems to be more popular for families or couples. Food at the buffet wasn’t the greatest quality but also wasn’t terrible. Loved the location- sitting on the balcony felt like being in a jungle and the beach area was great. About a 40 min walk into Playa del Carmen which can feel long but very safe. Staff were all very friendly.

Fantastic service, fantastic beach, good amenities, awesome food. Super clean. Super organized. A bit older and simple accomodations, not the luxury place you would think, but you don't spend much time in the rooms. Everything else overcompensates this. Definitely returning next time.

Enjoyed our stay rooms are outdated although clean food was good and bars well stocked, the pools are nice but need cleaning better as always hard to find places to sit around pools, beach was good although with 4 other Rui hotels in the area people would come and use our facilities causing over crowding
