We stopped here while cycling from London to Paris. The hotel is very well positioned relative to the bike path and the town is fantastic. Staff provided safe storage for our bikes. We just wished we had more time to spend there

Wingrove House is a welcoming small hotel in the heart of the historic village of Alfriston, just off the South Downs Way. It has been sympathetically restored to make it a comfortable, modern hotel. The staff are friendly and the rooms are spotless. There is a comfortable lounge and I enjoyed sitting there with a book in the evening. Breakfast was also delicious and the restaurante service was great.

Reception was great: staff helpful and efficient. Parking was adequate. We were given a free upgrade and I’d recommend the room with access to the veranda. Bed was very comfortable. The evening meal was slightly disappointing. However, it didn’t warrant a fuss. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Alfriston is a small Town with several restaurants and bars. Also, a few shops. A short walk to the Church and Clergy house to visit.
