We were put in a small 1 br room that is above an open area cafe which opens for both breakfast and lunch. It was almost impossible to sleep beyond 5.45am with all the noise from the cafe staff settling up tables, noise from diners, the rumble and clatter from the frequent garbage collections both private contractors and council. The pool provided is simply a splash pool with a large children wading area and a small plunge area, so being an adults only hotel, I’m not sure why such a small pool is provided at a holiday resort for adults. All in all we were very disappointed with the accommodation and facilities provided

Robert and Lyn were fantastic to deal with. Nothing is a proble. This is not a brand new building but it is in excellent condition and lovely and quiet. Highly recomend a stay here. Very central and can walk to everything

Great location but with stairs
Great location. Only issue is if your are a senior or have issue with stairs request room on lowest level. We had 4 sets of stairs to navigate with big bags. If you are on top floors request balcony overlooking street not back side of building.

Good hotel
The hotel has a good central location and it has an underground carpark. There is a small kitchen in the room and communal laundry. The couple running the hotel were very nice and gave good communication. I found the hotel good calue for money.

The location was wonderful, we walked everywhere. The apartments were very private, lovely views of the pool and sheltered from direct sun. Enjoyed our time there. Wonderful communication from our hosts.

When you’re looking for something Central
Great place to stay in Port Douglas. Very conveniently, located, spacious, well-equipped apartment, very helpful hosts. The pool is a little small but a nice area for sunbathing.

Lyn and Robert are wonderful hosts to this cosy kid free resort. Very convenient location on the main strip and easy walking distance to shops and beach. Clean pool and BBQ facilities.

The property is in a fabulous location on Macrossan Street with easy walking distance to Four Mile Beach, shops, restaurants and the River area but the property is looking very tired and in need of a deep clean and painting if it is to keep its 4 star rating and be worth the amount per night

Convenient Location close to restaurants
Excellent local in the middle of Macrossan St making easy access to shops, supermarket, and restaurants. Rooms clean with basic cooking facilities and implements as well basic crockery. The room and balcony faced the main street and so noise levels from both car and pedestrian traffic were loud - had to have doors and windows closed when making phone calls and also for sleeping overnight. Only has stair access to units so people with mobility issues might need to take this into consideration. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Le Cher Du Monde was a fantastic place to stay right in the heart of Port Douglas, the hosts Robert , Lyn and can’t forget their dog Ellie were great , nothing was any trouble and they also booked us a couple of tours.. would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Port Douglas

Ok accomodation for day or so with some negatives
Property is well.licated for the town centre and the attractions. A good underground car park formcar parking. Spacious room allocated but it was above the cafe and a little noisy. Also for us, to many regulations, don't use the spa after 9.30pm, make sure you empty all the bins, air conditioning nite saying set at 23 for comfort. Well your 23 maybe formyiu but for others. Felt like you were in a school classroom sometimes. As well world wide travellers we found all of this a shame and not necessary. The swimming pool.was.refreshing but the picture shown on hotels com make it look far.bigher than it is. Bewareut is really small. Nice area to sit around and if fortunate enough to have in if the pool facing rooms I'm sure that could be nice. It's ok, but certainly plenty of other places to consider around the same.price.

The only negative is smoking is allowed on balcony or patio, so you may get second hand smoke. Also we stayed for 4 nights no change of towels which we could wash at a cost in laundry
