Awesome stay!
Fast, friendly and efficient check in. We’ve stayed here many times and always have friendly employees. Room was clean, hotel was quiet…couldn’t ask for anything more than that.

I am a disabled person with an ADA dog. Rude staff at check in put me in a terrible dog room #210 which is unlawful.There was a sticky film on the carpet that coats the bottom of your feet. Had to wear shoes the entire time. This room has no windows other than at the very top of a cement wall. Located next to & with an adjoining door to the maintenance workers tool storage room. The men came to this room early in the AM's banging and moving things and loudly communicating. I eventually had to change rooms once a different human was at the front desk. I was thankfully moved to a room on the 3rd floor that was actually clean, adequate and seemed quiet. Next morning, a flood in the room across from me had these same men directly in front of my door now loudly communicating over the sound of the wet vac that was sucking up the water. I asked them to not yell to one another in front of my door that had a "do not disturb" I was told they were not yelling.I complained to the front desk and even the manager. I was repeatedly told that the hotel could not help me or compensate me in any way because I booked "through a 3rd party" being Expedia. All time worst stay I have ever had at The Clarion Hotel Portland. Not even coffee at the front. Will most likely never return. Sad because it was once my favorite hotel in the past. Few positives. One lady was very professional at the front desk. The pool & hot tub were nice, and the bed was comfy.

Just what I was looking for
We stayed for just one night to be close to my work's holiday party location. It was easy to check in, friendly staff. The lobby and restaurant look really nice. Bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Everyrhing we wanted!

We stayed for one night. The front desk staff was super friendly, and parking was easy. We got to choose a floor and we were all checked in within five minutes. The rooms were clean and well stocked. It’s a little dated but it was well kept. The beds were super comfy and the pillows were soft and plenty of them. The pool was a little chilly but the hot tub helped and it was fun to go between the temps. The floor of the pool space had great flooring for little feet. The only negative truly for us was that you could hear people tapping through the vents when you were in the bathroom. Otherwise it’s a cute little hotel that impressed us.

Very misleading appearance. The lobby is updated and beautiful, the room we had, not so much. When we entered the room it was freezing cold, the AC was on, in December! We had the heat on 90 degrees for 3 hours and it only made the room tolerable. There were hardly any outlets in our room. Though we didnt use it, the indoor pool and hot tub looked updated and very inviting. The bearded gentleman at the front desk, i wish i had got his name, was very courteous and helpful. He noticed that i walk with a cane and booked us in an ADA room which was very much appreciated. The room was clean, just extremely out of date and the heater wasnt very good. Probably wouldnt stay again unles the rooms were updated like the lobby. No continental breakfast either.

Rooms are a bit dated as is pool Area but love the hot tub. Amtrak and concert venue is close. Front desk is a wealth of knowledge especially Hathan (sp?) we stay frequently when going to and from Boston on the train or flying.

Easy walk to Amtrak, 3 minutes, 8 minutes to Bissell bros brewing and concert venue. Front desk is always kind, especially Hanthan. Breakfast is good. For other food options you need to drive to Congress st area. Close to 95.
