One of the most aesthetically pleasing hotels i’ve ever been to. Gorgeous decor in the lobby and the rooms, there is a restaurant and bar in the hotel as well. Very secure, you need to use your key card to access the elevator and the rooms, you also need a key card to get into the building after 10pm. Staff is very friendly aswell! My only complaint would be that they require an incidental deposit of $100 each night just incase you eat any of the candy/drinks that come w the room. This was not made clear to me until halfway through my visit. The deposit was above the price of the room for 3 nights. Other than that, this place is amazing and I will be staying here again.

The Grand Stark provided us an exceptional stay. Our Grand King room was clean, modern and quite cozy which helped make us feel super comfortable settling in. Some things that should be noted, in my opinion, for other travelers in terms of chosing this hotel-- Valet parking curb was sometimes full so we'd have to circle around a time or 2 in order to pull in. There was always one person working so it didn't move very quickly. Secondly, valet closes for the night at 11pm so you have to be in around 1030pm to ensure youre in on time. This was a little bit of an inconvenience for us. There will definitely be outside noise (they provide earplugs) especially on the weekends with the crowd at the bar next door but we still slept fine without the ear plugs. There are also no black out curtains as the coverings are shutters if youre sensitive to light. When addressing the unhoused situation in Portland, yes you will see lots of unhoused people everywhere but no one bothered us, we even walked to a bar a few blocks away at midnight with no problems. The restaurant was good if you like fancy but the diner next door was also good for a quick meal. Overall, still great. I'd like to highlight the friendliness and general knowledge of every staff member we did encounter. It was in this area that the Grand Stark really stood out for us. They answered every question we had and gave so many recommendations that our original tourist plans went out the window with no regrets.

Such an adorable hotel! The front desk staff were so kind, and the rooms were cute and well appointed. The housekeeping staff, however, needs a bit of an improvement. Our room was never cleaned and when we initially checked in, it was obvious our room hadn’t been dusted in awhile. Not a huge deal, in the long run, but it’s unfortunate because this could be a great hotel if that one area was improved.

Bed was not comfortable and it had a dip in the middle. The room got too warm and there was no way to make the room cooler. The location was nice and the building is really unique. Amenities and staff were great.

The staff here are incredible. I believe one of the guys at the front desk was named Byron (hope I'm remembering that correctly) and he was truly so kind and helpful, as were the rest of the staff I encountered during my stay. The hotel is cool and although the area can seem a bit unpolished, it is a great area of Portland for cool bars and restaurants and super walkable. I highly recommend it!
