I’m from OOB and have walked by the inn many many times. I often thought should an opportunity arise I’d like to stay there. Unfortunately, the gentleman at the front desk ruined the experience. The inn itself is quaint, charming and unique so from that standpoint it’s worth a look. From a staff standpoint I wouldn’t stay there again.

Cute, old home in a great location. The room was very clean, however, the smell of some deodorizer or cleaner was very strong. I’d I could have changed one thing, it would be to not use that!

This place could be a gem…we are puzzled by management actions where the hardworking friendly staff person gets let go while the front desk no-help-whatsoever person remains. Also had zero heads-up that our rooms and breakfast would be in 2 different houses (“Atlantic Birch Inn” 2 doors down). Typical historic house issue: some rooms have musty smells compounded by trying to cover up with even stronger cleaning smells. Town seemed sleepy and safe, which was good considering ancient door locks. Nothing wrong with this place that can’t be fixed with a little attention. A simple batch of homemade muffins in the morning (vs. plastic-wrapped commercial) would go a long way toward underscoring the historic charm.

The first room we stayed in was adequate but on our return back for 1 overnight stay our room was dirty, smelled and the bed was horrible! The refrigerator sounded like it could take off. Finally unplugged it! For the price we payed we were very disappointed!

Room 2 has a smell that I would liken to a chemical used to remove mold. There were stains under the paint that look like mold on the ceiling and there is a rotten spot in the floor right in front of the toilet. When we mentioned it to the owners, they said it was the previous occupant's perfume. They offered us a free breakfast for the inconvenience, but there was no way I would sleep in that room. If they had offered another room, we would have maybe stayed but they didn't, so we left.

About 8 minute walk to beach. Satisfactory breakfast with a few items. Bathroom was clean and room had AC. The negative was that you could hear train blowing its horn through the night! Otherwise it was ok!
