I booked this room three weeks in advance for my first girls trip in 10 years. We wanted to stay in downtown Portland so we could walk around and shop and go to restaurants. It took me three hours to drive to Portland when I got there they told me that they canceled my reservation due to limited inventory. I asked when they were going to notify me about this and they stated they sent me an email I showed up at the hotel at 3 PM. They sent me the email at 1:15 PM. I was already on the road and not able to check my email while driving. They stated not to have my phone number because I booked through Expedia. When I book this room, I was going to pay $350 for the night the day before I got there that same night was going for 600. My guess is they overbooked and since I booked through a third-party they decided I wasn’t worthy enough to stay in their hotel and then they could get more money from someone else. Again, my first trip away from my children and my husband and a decade and it is ruined. They put us up in a cheap hotel by the mall and the airport 15 minutes away in a completely different town they offered to pay for my Uber receipts and the room. But honestly, they ruined my vacation. I’m going to go out of my way not to stay at this hotel chain again, but I also think I might not book through Expedia any longer as it seems like when you go through a third-party the hotels care about less. Disappointed is an understatement.

The room was very nice and spacious, we had a full kitchen and they had some chocolates in the room for us, there was a sofa and desk in a separate area from the bed, a big TV that swiveled so you could see it from the sofa or bed. The bathroom sink was separate from the shower and toilet, so that was convenient. The hot breakfast was really nice with good food and coffee, and the lobby was really nice with comfortable seating and a fireplace. It was walking distance to shops, restaurants and to the piers. Would definitely recommend.
