I spent a weird amount of time searching motel photos for signs of the self-make waffles as part of the continental breakfast. There was one pictured on the Expedia promo photos, but when we arrived, we learned it was no longer working. We were all disappointed. The included breakfast is very underwhelming. There isn’t on site water so making the oatmeal is hard unless using the hot water which is hard to measure and doesn’t cook the oatmeal well enough. Clearly, most of my complaints are breakfast related. The rest was bananas, Kirkland Signature granola bars, and super sugary yogurts. Our room was very clean but kinda shabby (remote for TV didn’t turn off TV, had to manually turn it off; scuffed paintings and furniture; towel rack broken; the bathroom smelled faintly of old cigarettes only after showering lol). The staff were all lovely and friendly. Location close to airport with shuttle. Definitely won’t return but not for lack of cleanliness or staff friendliness. Mostly sad about the waffles.

Although the place is certainly good enough, it’s not the best Super 8. The breakfast was skimpy, the hair dryer was missing, and the desk showed wear. Even so, I’ll have no problem staying there again. And I really appreciate being allowed to check in early.

Bed bug evidence on the mattress, so we had to not stay there and had to sleep on a wooden bench in the Portland Airport instead because it was late when we arrived at our hotel, and there was not enough time to get another before our early morning flight after all was said and done.

$200 CASH deposit required but not stated.

When I arrived I waited about 15 minutes while the front desk helped other customers. When it was my turn I was informed that I must provide a $200 CASH deposit. When I said I thought that was weird and that I didn’t have $200 CASH and turned to speak to my partner, the clerk said she would be happy to cancel my reservation. I told her that I had made a reservation through Hotel.com and that it was not refundable. She kept insisting that she would be happy to cancel my reservation if I couldn’t come up with $200 CASH. I asked her if there was an ATM there to use and she said she was just going to cancel my reservation so I could go somewhere else. She assured me that she would make sure I was refunded my money. At this point I asked for some sort of document stating this policy or that she was going to refund my money. She told me she didn’t have to do that and that I should just trust her. She said that it was stated on the reservation site that they require a $200 CASH deposit which I disagreed with and could not find anywhere. At this point I was pretty upset and we ended up going to the LaQuinta next door. I see that I have been fully charged for this reservation and I am going to demand a refund and I hope they have a large safe if they require a $200 CASH deposit from every room in that hotel, that is a whole lot of CASH money sitting there every night.

The room seemed clean, if a little dated. No towel bars in the bathroom, so all of the linen ended up on the floor, or hanging over the side of the bathtub. No elevator, and we were on the 3rd floor (and I've got bad knees). Took the shuttle to the airport from the hotel, and that was clean and the driver was very helpful.

It's a pretty average motel. Booked it for really cheap so I can't complain too much. It was clean, the staff was nice, the area was surprisingly good and despite being near an airport it was pretty quiet. The breakfast options were abysmal and the TV in our room didn't work. There was also a light in the room that wouldn't turn on. All-in-all, an OK experience. Not terrible, not awesome.
