The hotel was in a convenient location. We were able to transit and walk everywhere. We loved that there was a games room for when we just wanted a quiet lowkey night. The S’mores in the evenings were a really nice surprise as well! Paid self-parking was underground with an entrance gate that the staff controls, so it felt really secure. The only downsides of our stay was the HEAT in the room. It was blowing out hot air even when we had set it to the lowest setting (65°F/ 18.5°C). At one point our room was at 83°F/ 28°C, which made a very uncomfortable sleep. Thankfully, there was a window we could open and the neighborhood was quiet enough for us to just have that open throughout the night and turned the fan/ AC/ heat unit off. It was the beginning of November, so the weather was still pretty mild. The shower head pressure is a really weird, and water temperature was really hard to figure out, but other than that. We enjoyed our stay a lot! Staff was really friendly and helpful! Continental breakfast was convenient and the coffee there was really good! Will likely be back if we were to visit Portland again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Zags - the staff were delightful, the hotel was lovely, quiet, clean and in a great location that was very walkable. Would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable stay that’s maybe not right in the thick of the DT hustle but still very central.

I booked this hotel specifically for their advertised electric vehicle charging stations included for guests. I made a 5 hour long drive for the stay, arriving to find out that the chargers were not available due to giving parking space to large tour busses instead. They offered chargers in the basement garage ($40/night) only to find out the charger was broken. I had only 1 day in Portland and I ended up spending hours of it waiting for my car to charge (and paying for the charge as well instead of the cost I had planned to include in my overall hotel stay).

Came to see Wicked at Keller Auditorium, walked the 2 blocks, felt safe in area doing so! Location, Room's, Game area and Restaurant, Zags is a great place to stay for a night or week!

Check-in: very inconvenient. Three transactions from my bank account with total staying fees. I had to call the bank to cancel extra payments, and I was about to cancel my debit card! The reception staff was very stressed, but her colleague did not help. She ended up breaking down. I was asked for $200 in incidentals and 30 dollars daily for breakfast and internet. etc! When I booked, it said that amenities would be free (included). When I asked, they told me that Expedia changed the language to attract people to book through them! I had to call Expedia to help out. Staff: Other than the strange check-in experience, the staff were cool and helpful. Cleanliness: The room was not clean when I arrived. Spots on the carpet and a big spill on the curtain. Very dusty and hair is everywhere. But when I asked for the room to be cleaned, it was perfectly cleaned. Amenities and breakfast: There is a gym that is very close to the hotel which is included in the amenities. Breakfast is simple: bagels, muffins, boiled eggs, cereals, and fruits. I did not try the parking. Property: nice rooms and very walkable to almost everything around. Very close to public transportation and restaurants around. In summary, excellent location, and a nice property, but transparency and customer service need to be improved.
