Staff was fantastic from check-in to check-out. Very friendly and helpful. Hotel is kept very clean. If you have a mobility problem this could be an issue since Porto is a city of hills. Closest transportation is a little walk but not far at all. Overall great experience.

This small boutique offers a superior location with beautiful river views from several rooms. Its decor is a dated - rugs, towels, etc. are worn. But the location is unbeatable, with a generous gourmet breakfast and an amazing staff.

This was the cutest hotel by the river. Great views. The staff were excellent. Especially Luis and Luisa. Top notch service. The breakfast was great. It was a great start to the day as we explored Porto Thank you so very much for a great experience.

The location is the best in town, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, and breakfast is excellent. The only drawback is that the rooms are small -yet efficiently organized for their size.

Room was great, small by Canadian standards but met our needs. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was amazing. We were to board a ship close by and weren’t sure a cab would work out for several reasons. I was told if it didn’t they would walk the luggage down to ship for us! Couldn’t ask for more

Best hotel House Douro

One of the best hotels we ever stayed. Our room was not large but it was comfortable and we had enough space to put our stuff. The service was impeccable the people that work at this hotel could not be friendlier. They help us with dinner suggestions, buying bus tickets, tourist attractions. They served us delicious breakfast that was freshly prepared every morning. We had the best view of the Douro River. I would stay there again!

Lovely spot, right on the river but still quiet and close to the old town. The service from the whole team was excellent and the breakfast was superb. The room was very small but had everything we needed and as the weather was really good for February we were out all day. Lots of great restaurants within a stones throw. Definitely recommend. Thanks you guys

Amazing hotel with amazing staff

We had an amazing time here! The hotel and rooms are very cozy and the staff are all amazing! The location is on the waterfront and we could walk (comfortably) to everything we wanted to see and do. Do be aware though if you or anyone in your party has mobility issues that Porto is very hilly and that most things will be an upwards walk from the hotel. The breakfast area was really nice and attentive staff look after you. I would definitely stay here when we come back too Porto.

Guest House Douro was an excellent choice for 5 nights in Porto. The rooms are small, but very comfortable and clean. Wonderful breakfast included. What really makes this hotel stand out is the superb staff. Everyone was super friendly and eager to help. They really make you feel welcome. We loved Philip, Luis, Luisa, and Ugo.

Great view

Room was very tiny, but typical for Europe. Very clean with an incredible view. The host on arrival could not have been better. I feel bad because i can't remember his name and we couldn't say goodbye because with left so early in the morning to catch a train. Excellent stay and Porto was beautiful.

Perfect location and 5-star service!

We had an amazing time during our 4-night stay in October, 2024. The reception staff are professional, friendly and helpful. I apologize that I'm unable to remember the name of the kind gentleman at Reception. He mentioned that he was from Venezuela. He gave us truly 5-star service, every day exceeding our expectations in every way, from assisting with recommendations for day trips to serving our delicious breakfast meal. We booked 2 rooms, both overlooking the Douro River. What a treat! And the guest house is located in the heart of town, making it convenient to enjoying the local restaurants, shops. We will definitely book here again on our next trip!

Amazing guest house

This is a true find. The location cannot be beat and the staff :Luis, Lisa and Philip are top notch. The breakfasts are works of art and so delicious. The room is quiet and comfortable and has been totally modernized. We loved our 4 nights here and will return and recommend to friends. Thank you Guest House Douro for a truly memorable time.

If I could give 10 stars for the staff, I would. Luis and Luisa were the sweetest, most hospitable hosts! Breakfast was spectacular. Location is great; we had a gorgeous view of the river and scene along the waterfront. Super convenient, central location. We can't wait to return.

Staff were outstanding, breakfast was awesome. Small guest house, 2 rooms per floor. They upgraded us to river view as it was near empty when we were there. Wonderful view on river. Suggest you book river view, a few $ more but worth it.
