The staff is friendly. The rooms are clean and quiet. The bad experience with the hotel started the moment I made the reservation. There was no way to find out how to get transportation from the airport to and then from the hotel. As it is an airport hotel, details with a link to request transportation to and from the airport would have been great. I had to walk to the hotel at midnight. I woke up at the hotel the following day and had to get to the airport quickly. I asked about transportation and was told that if you had not requested it the night before, you would need to wait another half an hour. I walked the 2 kilometers back to the airport carrying my luggage.
I was also surprised to learn that I had to pay a city tax the moment I checked in. That could have been noted in the check-in or covered when I made the reservation.
My question for Oporto is, why go through all the effort to create a great hotel but then leave people confused as to how to get there and back from the airport?
