The Staff here is Excellent, the lobby and restaurant are great. The rooms look good from a design standpoint but are very weak functionally. Sink doesn’t have any counter room, switches aren’t in right places, closets don’t provide any hanging spare, towel hooks don’t hold towels, etc. etc. shower and under sink has mold.

The hotel was very comfortable, very clean and calm. Loved the design and decor which is very calming and modern. The only reason I didn’t give an excellent was because the hot water in the shower, didn’t seem to work during peak times which is disappointing because apart from this its an excellent hotel with very friendly staff and amazing breakfast options. Loved the dinner options on the menu. I would most definitely like to go back if the hot water was guaranteed to work all the time.

The hotel was centrally located, making it easy to access the city's key attractions. Our stay was enjoyable, with a spacious room that was nicely decorated. The bed and pillows ensured a comfortable night's sleep. The front desk staff, including Kenny and Antonio, were attentive and knowledgeable about local attractions and activities. The breakfast service was exceptional, with a variety of options and outstanding service. The hotel also surprised us with a complimentary cake and champagne for my wife's birthday. The only drawback was the lack of parking at the hotel, and the nearby paid parking lot was inconvenient, expensive, and difficult to navigate.

Lovely centrally located hotel

PortoBay Teatro hotel is very well located for access to the many attractions Porto has to offer. Every member of staff deserves a 5* rating, for their friendliness, efficiency and helpfulness. The breakfast choice was excellent and the Il Basilico restaurant, offered lovely food at very reasonable prices. The only negative things I can say are 1) Our room was farly small with a distinct lack of storage space and 2) other than the very small, but nice bar, the foyer was the only space where you could sit and relax although, the bench style seating wasn't very comfortable. I think the hotel is better equipped for short stays rather than our visit, which was a week long. I would definitely return though, if I was taking a trip, to Porto, for a mini break.

This property was extremely convenient to the main downtown areas and dinner options we wanted to go to. It was also close enough to get down to the river. It was also pretty convenient that we had the ability to go to a laundromat nearby to wash clothes. We even visited the sister hotel of PortoBay which was down the street to get a very relaxing couples massage. We visited Lisbon after Porto and noticed there was a similar property in Lisbon, so we may consider staying at the Lisbon location if we visit in the future, but would highly recommend the PortoBay property.

The staff was really excellent. They were so helpful and kind from the moment I checked in. And they were all fluent in English so it made everything very easy as an English speaker. (Random side note, whatever fragrance they use in the lobby is amazing!)

Really wanted to like this hotel but a few too many inconveniences that werent fully offset by the wonderful staff, lovely common areas, great breakfasts, and convenient location. Most of design choices not very functional like uncomfortable chairs, oddly placed mirrors, glass bathroom walls with no doors. A few things less systemic but affected our stay:The hvac was not controllable from the room (had to call front desk) and the room door lock didn’t function so had to be let into the room. The staff was always responsive and apologetic but too many things disrupted the stay to give a better rating.

Good breakfast. Asked the lady at reception to help me with selecting the right train station for taxi from the app. She selected the wrong one assuring me its correct. With taxi driver’s help who caught an error, we were able to get to the station ontime .Else we would have been late for our train. Staff should be more attentive . If doesnt know, better ask someone else .

Central London

Check in was very good and welcoming. Our room was on the 4th floor and a great size. Everywhere was spotless, there was a good selection at breakfast. However, there were a few negatives. The room is exceptionally hot. We had to open a window at night. There is nowhere to put your towel when you're in the shower and the bathroom flooded. We had an excellent stay and would definitely recommend.
