Perfect place to go to eat and stay in Hampton NH. Wonderful historic inn with clean, lovely comfortable rooms. Excellent staff and customer service in the inn and restaurant. Restaurant has fresh, delicious food options. Excellent seafood and menu options. We have stayed several times and would do so again.

Old Salt lives up to name

Everything you may expect from looking at their web site. Lamie's Inn was comfortable with easy access. Old Salt restaurant food was excellent and service was prompt and pleasant.

Wonderful place like the classy inns of yesteryear. Great old building. Cool antiques and furniture everywhere. They give you an actual glass (instead of plastic) for drinking in your room. Restaurant was delightful. Staff friendly and courteous.

Nice rooms and having the lounge and restaurant downstairs was very convenient. However our room was noisy and when we said something about it, nothing was done. Part of the building's air or ventilating system was right above our room and ran all night. It was loud enough that i had to put ear plugs in to sleep. We had actually booked a room over the lounge that has a higher reviewer rating and we are guessing thats why. But, we were placed on the other side of the building. It was a tough 3 nights. The continental breakfast is great. Fresh pastries every morning and always something different. The man who made the pastries was very helpful and friendly. If not for the noise and lack of concern by staff, i would have given them a Very Good or even Excellent rating. Don't stay in Rm 41!

Very charming but needs an upgrade

The place definitely had a lot of charm. An iconic landmark. That said it's a little rough around the edges for my taste. The rooms need an upgrade. Nowhere really comfortable in a room to sit. Middle of the road average breakfast. The old salt tavern has amazing food. Highly recommend you just stay there for dinner. All in all I can see how this would hold a lot of charm and appeal for people who like old landmark charming properties. Just don't look for a lot of modern conveniences or upgrades. I likely would not return but I also don't want to talk down about them.

50th Anniversary

I loved the old charm. It was very cozy. We did struggle doing the steps. As we are both disabled with bad legs and hip. When I called I was told there was nothing available on the first floor. Thank the good Lord this was just an overnight stay. We could have not done the steps multiple days in a row. However if we could get a room in the 30’s we would go back. The bathroom is very small. You had to twist your body to the right to get the toilet paper. It was weird. We also found it hard to find a parking space due to all the people at the restaurant. We felt that they should have parking designated just for inn guest staying overnight. There was parking at the top of the parking lot. Being seniors we did not want to lug our luggage from there. So we pulled upfront of the restaurant/inn and unloaded. The staff were very nice. The food was great.

The Best Honeymoon we Could've asked for

One of my best vacations to date! The room was nice, the bed was comfy and everything was incredibly clean! The mattresses had covers and basic toiletries were provided. Staff was very friendly and noise was at a minimum all night! I'll leave my comments about Old Salt for a different review, but I will say here the food was delicious, our service was quick and we WILL be going there to stay again!

Wanted something with character, but this place is very tired. And very overpriced. Liked the real keys but once inside the rooms the linens were discolored and old. The towels were very nice but the bathroom is very small, which would have been fine for a lower price. The continental breakfast baked items did not seem fresh, coffee was not great…. I would not recommend this property. The check in staff was the only redeeming feature and they added the character!!
