Room smelt a little of smoke which was odd - room was clean but did not smell fresh. Not a big deal but thought I’d mention it. Was very convenient for me though for the station first thing so perfect from this perspective.

I stayed at the royal maritimime hotel for 2 nights and the room was very comfortable,the bathroom was lovely and big and there was daily housekeeping. Only downside is I noticed after the housekeeping had been, in the shower the small bottle of shower gel was still on the floor in the shower so I don't think the shower had got done but that is my only criticism. I had breakfast on my first day and there was good choice and it was nice and hot , I choose to have breakfast in town on my 2nd day as I had gone for room only and if you wanted to add breakfast on it's £15.95 if you add it at time of booking it's alot cheaper. I used the bar once on my visit and the lady in the bar was very friendly. The lady's on reception was also very friendly but I had a lovely chat with the lady in the bar I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Portsmouth as it's only a short walk from the shopping centre and bars restaurants and train station . I walked back on my own from the cinema after midnight on my first night and felt very safe.

Everything was difficult to get to. Lots of doors to get to room. Very hard to get to pool. Hot Tub was broken. No AC so room on our side was very hot. Staff were rude. Bed was very uncomfortable. Poor laundry facilities. I would not stay there again.

Good location for historic harbour

Comfy bed and good shower. Hotel is a bit dated. Towels too small. Check in and out times are good. Staff not particularly friendly.

Excellent location, amazing staff esp the chatty ladies at reception who helped with bags and even upgraded us! Very short walk from the outlet place and port, also around 15m from town and bit more to the pier n beach. Limited parking is the only thing but we got on right outside luckily! Will come again!
