We booked an ocean view room — a premium experience we were really looking forward to. When we checked in, we were told we were being “upgraded” to a better room. That sounded great… until we got there and realized it had no windows. Not a partial view, not a courtyard — literally a windowless room. We immediately asked to switch back to what we had originally booked and paid for, but were told nothing could be done. No alternative options, no credit, no apology — just a shrug. This felt like a bait-and-switch. The ocean view was a huge part of why we booked this trip. Getting stuck in a dark, closed-off room completely changed the experience.

Gorgeous hotel close to the downtown Positano area. Private beach is a huge bonus. Staff was incredible especially Paolo and delicious breakfast every morning as part of our stay.

The best view of Positano buildings. Very beautiful. Has private section where you can walk down stairs to the main beach. You can also use those stairs to get to hotel faster from the main square. On the upper portion you can walk down to a coffee/ pastry spot where they had great Iced coffee and continue on to main square. Total of about 10-15 min walk down

Hotel Maricanto in Positano, Italy was amazing. From check in to check out the staff provided top notch service. Paolo the concierge was marvelous with all the info he provided for our trip and the ladies at the desk helping. us out with the boat to Capri and scooter rental. They were there to truly make sure their customer enjoy every facet of their facilities and town. The breakfast was delicious and so were the views. The staff again exceptional! Our room was amazing to wake up to or just stay in. Definitely, coming back here. Thank you for a relaxing and enjoyable time.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The best hotel staff I have ever experienced. The check-in process was smooth. The front desk staff/ reception staff went above and beyond to attend to our needs. He was the nicest and friendliest staff. He even packed us breakfast to-go on our day of check out which was early. The room had the best view of Positano. They had a great breakfast spread and we also dined at this place . They have the best vegan tasting menu. I highly recommend staying in this place. My only little hiccup would be the valet parking. The guy was very nice but he did cause damage to our car while parking( Positano being a super tight space) But, the hotel staff was very receptive about the issue and was ready to reimburse if necessary! ( we had insurance so did not have to get on this route)

Felt like royalty!

We felt like royalty staying here. We were treated to a FABULOUS upgrade, and beyond that the service is just top notch. The folks at the desk particularly (shout out Dario and Anita) continued to go the extra mile to ensure every bit of our stay was just perfect. I’ve never received such incredible service. The hotel is also wonderfully located, not too far up or down the hills to the beach area. Unbeatable views (photos attached from our terrace) The property is immaculate, with wonderful people throughout adding to the magic. Would love to come again!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Although we only stayed for one night, we received world class service and hospitality. Paolo and Angela were extremely gracious and helpful - recognizing we would need a transfer service the next day, they proactively booked it for us in advance and offered several helpful recommendations. Our room was upgraded and overlooking the water, very close to shopping/clubs/restaurants. Breakfast was superb. Do not hesitate to book here - Marincanto will make sure you have a fantastic experience in Positano.

The hotel was beautiful. The staff went above and beyond with every wish we had. After checking out of the hotel to catch a ferry from Positano to Sorrento, we found our ferry to be cancelled for weather reasons. Unable to get a taxi or bus due to overcrowding. Called the hotel who sent a transport person to pick us up, return us to the hotel and then arranged for private driver to Sorrento. Staff were extremely helpful, welcoming, and went out of their way to assist us. Would highly recommend!
