The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. We didn't realize that we were so close to FDR's home. Literally right across the street! We were able to also see the Vanderbilt grounds as well. A nice area for a weekend.

August 2025 stay at Hyde Park Quality Inn

Excellent location for exploring Hyde Park and FDR library. The hotel is clean and neat with fairly basic rooms and accommodations. It was good quality for the price paid.

Room as expected, service mediocre

Stay itself was just as expected and room was simple, but comfortable and clean. We had odd interactions with front desk staff. For example, we arrived late at night after booking about an hour before due to being in transit on a road trip. When we arrived, the man at the front desk chided us for not answering his call to confirm that we were coming (we did not receive the call, likely due to bad service in this rural area). I apologized for not having service. He then proceeded to tell me off multiple times repeatedly for not answering his call (that we didn’t receive) and tell me that they would have cancelled our reservation if we had not shown up when we did. This is an unreasonable expectation at a facility with a 24/7 front desk and that reportedly accepts check in until 1am. I witnessed multiple other challenging interactions between desk staff and other guests that were aligned with our own experience.

Was a convenient location to the sites we wanted to get to. 2 items that we were disappointed with. Ice machine was broken 2nd day we were there and the breakfast ran out of yogurt by 8am with no replenishment. Staff was outstanding and accommodating. Place was clean enough... beds super comfortable.

Old property. Bed, linens and pillows very good. Still has carpeted rooms. Air conditioner was fair, but may be leaking into carpet which is causing humid conditions and a foul odor. Price too high for value but pretty good for area.
