Overall we had a pleasant stay here. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a piece of molding that was pulled away from the wall. It should be replaced, it wasn't in good shape. The staff was very kind & accommodating, we ended our stay 1 day early because we did everything we wanted to do in the area. They refunded us the money for the extra night! Hotel is very close to FDR home, Museum & Library and also the Vanderbilt mansion. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Hotel room was clean and property is well-located. Hallway carpets were older and lumpy/stretched - probably need replacing. Breakfast was good.

Rude and inaccurate

The desk clerk tried to charge me twice for the third night and was exceptionally unhelpful when I pointed out my reservation was for 3 nights,‘not 2. They kept saying this was an Expedia problem, not something they could fix, even though they had the correct information. They were rude and unhelpful.

The hotel was nice, good breakfast and the customer service was good. It was the other people in the hotel that made the stay not so great. I was threatened to get F’ d up and I was cursed out by a drunk guest when I had my infant. Seemed to be a lot of people drinking and hanging out, which is not a problem as long as their not bothering people.

the front entrance has a 6-8" step-up, this is NOT handicap accessible and VERY hard to use anything with wheels, wheel chairs, suitcases, luggage transporters, etc ..... so everything with wheels has to be rolled across about 3 feet of grass to get to the front door.

They can do better!

My back injuries made lugging my bags up stairs very painful and the desk clerk did not offer to help. The light bulbs in the room were burnt out, the bath tub did not have a working stopper and the bathroom door was propped open by the trash can.

Have stayed here many times. This place is ok. Its quiet and a good location for many tourist attractions. However it's starting to get a little run down. (Needs repairs & updating -better lighting and furniture size to fit rooms)

The tv did not work. There was a sign attached to the tv in room #123 Do not touch the tv-if you do, It will not work.” So I called the front desk rep to my room. He did some things with the remote and got it working. I was there for a conference and didn’t want to go with wrinkled clothes… then the ironing board was rusted old and would not set up. He brought in a newer one. The “gym” was the size of my bathroom/closet-just totally not worth the cost to stay there even if breakfast is offered. The staff is very polite and helpful. The hotel, is outdated, with dingy worn carpet, small whole in the wall in the bathroom and old plastered drywall needs to be replaced. Not sure when the pictures online were taken, but it definitely does not match todays look!

Maintenance Issues Abound

#1 reason I won't return to this hotel is the maintenance issues. I've never stayed in a hotel this worn down in so many places that would be so easy to fix... the baseboards, rusting, chipped paint. While I never felt "dirty", I had to look away at every turn in the room.. mold in the showers, gaps in the wall where it's falling apart, and weathered fixtures.
