Open Gate Hotel in Praiano is a true gem on the Amalfi Coast! This family-run hotel offers such a warm and welcoming atmosphere—the staff are extremely kind, helpful, and always available to assist with anything you need. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and have incredible views of the sea that make every morning and evening unforgettable. Breakfast was another highlight, with plenty of delicious choices including eggs, fresh breads, yogurt, fruit, and pastries—something for everyone to enjoy before heading out for the day. The combination of genuine hospitality, comfort, and breathtaking scenery makes this hotel a perfect choice. We can’t wait to return!

Stunning views from our room, and I think this was one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The staff was wonderful and treated us as if we were old friends - they were lovely. Just know that walking to town is not that easy. No sidewalks and traffic buzzing around turns makes it a bit scary. You should taxi to town and elsewhere

Better than we expected

The room was spacious, we had a room with four beds, it was clean and the comforters were so thick and comfortable! The air conditioning worked amazingly. The breakfast buffet had scrambled eggs! The bathroom was large with a great shower! The balcony had chairs and great views! Great hotel.

Our stay at Open Gate was amazing! Such a great spot. Located in a little town close enough to other towns. The staff were absolutely amazing! The restaurant is also very good. Breakfast was perfect. No negative comments at all about this place! Highly recommend.

The staff is amazingly friendly & helpful! The view from our balcony was spectacular snd it was extra great to have full lounge chairs on our deck in addition to a table and chairs. The restaurant was delicious . It’s an easy walk to a beautiful beach which made our trip extra memorable.

My bad but should have checked the exact location as didn’t realize it’s right on the main highway, the photo is deceiving. Inconvenient as dangerous to walk as no shoulder or sidewalk. Breakfast decent nothing too exciting. Staff pleasant. Would only stay in Sorrento as pretty trapped anywhere along the coast.

This was a lovely hotel with amazing views and great food! It was our favourite stay during our whole two week trip on the coast. The staff was so friendly! There are plenty of nearby restaurants and a beach you can walk to, and nearby buses. Highly recommend!!!

Wonderful hotel and stay! Great location in Praiano, we really enjoyed being able to walk to different restaurants for dinner as well as a hidden gem of a beach with access to water taxis. Food was fabulous and bed was comfy. They also have parking spots available if you rented a car. Our favourite hotel experience on the Amalfi Coast.

Beach views

Great location is Praiano. Right on the main street Amalfi Drive I believe it's called. Our room exceeded our expectations. Awesome balcony with 180 ocean views. There was also a bus stop right outside the hotel so getting to each city was a breeze. The staff was very friendly also. Always available to help and even explained to us the best bus routes/stops to where we wanted to go. He even helped us flag our bus down. The restaurant food was good as well. Overall very pleased with our stay. Our favorite stay out of Milan, Florence, Rome, and Siena.

Our family of four travelled to Praiano this summer and had a lovely stay at Open Gate. The hotel manager Pasquale delivered exceptional service, helping with car arrangements, bus schedules, dining reservations and more. The food in the hotel was delicious and authentic, and the views were wonderful! Highly recommend!

Phenomenal propert! Stay here instead of Positano or Amalfi(visit these towns for 2 hours each, instead). The room was incredibly clean with a private terrace. You won’t be disappointed. Breakfast is exceptional and the dinner at the restaurant on site was above all expectations. Be sure to try the seafood special!! Stefania(hope I spelled her name correctly) helped us with the bus and ferry schedules. Good news, the bus stop is on the street right in front of the hotel. We rented a car for the trip but I would advise against it. You won’t need to drive once you are there with the bus and ferry options. So, bravo to Open Gate and stop looking for any other place on the Amalfi Coast and stay here.

This is an absolute gem on the Amalfi coast! The restaurant downstairs had an amazing view and homemade delicious food. The beach was a quick 15 minute walk. The staff was incredibly kind and personable, they even sent a doctor to our room since my friend was sick. They treat you like family here. I would recommend this hotel to anyone I meet!
