I loved our swim out room. But, I didn’t love my sister’s. Hers didn’t have any privacy between each patio like ours did. We would have enjoyed the swim out rooms more if we were next to each other. We requested several times through the resort from the time we booked to the time we arrived to be next to each other. We were not even in the same building. There was some confusion with our transportation to and from the airport. Our dining experience was not good overall. There were a lot of call outs at the Brazilian. We waited a long time for drinks at the hibachi grill. They ran out of food at the dinner buffet before 8:00 pm. However, the Cave dinner and service was amazing! The beach was closed due to crocodiles. The largest water slide was for kids only. The pools were really nice and big. The nightly entertainment was really good and fun! Guest services was helpful on some things we needed. I thought there was no tipping at an all-inclusive. I’m glad I had some cash with me.

Unforgettable Stay at Royalton Splash! Our stay at Royalton Splash was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed—especially by the hotel manager, Cesar, who greeted us personally and was incredibly attentive throughout our stay. That kind of service really set the tone for the rest of our trip. The resort had everything we could ask for. The waterpark was a huge hit with our kids—they couldn’t get enough of the slides and the lazy river! It’s truly a perfect place for families to relax and have fun. We were also blown away by the food. The restaurants on-site were amazing, offering a wide variety of delicious meals. The service at every restaurant was top-notch—friendly, fast, and professional. Amazing Family Getaway at Royalton Splash! We had a fantastic experience at the Royalton Splash! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and offers a welcoming atmosphere. The amenities were top-notch—plenty of dining options, clean and spacious rooms, and excellent service throughout our stay. The highlight for our family was definitely the waterpark. The kids absolutely loved the water slides, splash areas, and especially the lazy river. It kept them entertained for hours every day! This has easily become one of our favorite vacation spots. We’re already planning to come back next year—and likely every year after that! Highly recommend it for families looking for fun, relaxation, and great memories.

Staff was very professional, especially our butlers Elio and Gonzalo, they were super helpful. The property was clean and well run. Restaurant staff was all very attentive. Yet there was a blandness to the food almost across the board. The only food that had some real excitement was the native Mexican food, which was good. Everything else, while fine, was just lackluster. Trying to be to many things for to many people. i wish they just had a Mexican buffet with local dishes and seafood. I can see the ocean but they served tuna and salmon. There is a gigantic ocean right next to us and there was hardly any seafood. I know they have to include alot of options for all the myriad guests. This kind of resort is just not for me.

The resort was clean and well maintained, the staff was friendly but the food at the buffet was not that good, but was really good at the restaurants

I liked that the resort had lots of pools, and lots of activities for the kids. There was easy access to the beach. I loved that we had our own lounge area as Expedia members.

I was very disappointed with my stay here and with Expedia as well. Upon arrival I went to check in by the “Expedia” and it took almost an hour to check in there was only one person on that side. We were never offered anything to drink while waiting and we had a toddler you can only imagine. Also we booked this specific resort because we wanted our daughter to enjoy the water park but it was CLOSED during our stay and we were never told that during our arrive we found out once went to check it out! It would have been nice to have been notified ahead of time or at least upon arrival. They could have given us free entry to either the bowling, laser or the acade room but nothing. Also the staff was somewhat friendly we would ask for curtainly tequila and “they didn’t have it” but once we said I’ll give you $$$ they would be like oh let me see if we have it!! At the poolside bars we when we would go up we would have to ask for our drinks not like other places we been to staff would be friendly and ask you how can they help or what would you like. Some staff was friendly some weren’t. Honestly this is my first time I ever write a review I was just very upset and disappointed that the water park for kids was closed and we were never notified ahead of time we were looking forward for our daughter to enjoy. The food was pretty good unlike other resorts I’ll give them that. The beach side was not but the best. For a nice beach go to Costa Mujeres! We stayed at the Catalonia loved it !
