Complete lack of communication and terrible customer service. Staying at Trade Winds was an absolute headache due to constant miscommunication and unhelpful staff. I emailed prior to arrival regarding early check-in and was told it was possible. When we arrived 4 hours early, the front desk told us early check-in was "never possible," but said they’d email us if the room opened up. Within an hour, we received an email saying our room was ready so we walked back! We used our code, entered the room, and began settling in, only for a housekeeper to barge in, demand we leave, and claim the email wasn't real. We were forced out while she "checked with the desk lady.” She never came back and so I went into the office to check in. I was told that the lady said she never sent the email. After waiting an hour with no updates, my male friend joined me in the office, and only then were we suddenly allowed back into our rooms. Check-out was just as chaotic. We asked to leave our luggage, but were told the office was closing early at 2:00PM (despite the website stating 3:00 PM). The staff member refused to help us coordinate retrieving our bags for our 4:00 PM flight, simply saying she "wanted to go home." Eventually, we were given access to a luggage closet. To top it off, as we collected our bags, we overheard new arriving guests going through the exact same chaotic runaround. The staff either doesn't talk to each other or simply doesn't care.

Space was very quiet and clean

My stay at Hix Island House was wonderful! The property was very clean and just as described on the website. It was peaceful, relaxing, and romantic, making it the perfect place to unwind. I especially loved the pool area—it was beautiful and so enjoyable. Check-in was easy and hassle-free. The only thing I missed was having a TV in the room, but honestly, that didn’t take away from the overall experience. I would definitely recommend Hix Island House and would love to stay again!

We had a wonderful stay! We loved our ground floor room, the outdoor shower was great for keeping our room sand free during our stay. It was quiet, the air conditioner was cold/worked well and the hosts were exceptional. They also allowed us to check in early for a small fee. 10/10 - Would definitely stay again!

We can't say enough good about this wonder place! Everything was five star. The hostess was very helpful and caring, giving great tips for all our activities. The home cooked breakfasts were a very nice touch. The property is extremely well designed for guest comfort. The location is very central to all the fun too. So, whether we were out enjoying the island or taking breaks in the heat, Vieques Biobay B&B made our stay truly epic. Thank you.
