First of all, the resort was not as advertised. More than half of the resort was shut down due to a storm apparently 2 weeks earlier. So that means only one part of the property was open with one open restaurant, one small pool, one small kiosk bar. Everything else as presented on Expedia was out of order or no access. Including the tennis club and beach access. No WiFi, no hot water. Musty smelling rooms with black mold visible. Air conditioning was not working in first room that we were given, we were moved to a slightly better room with better air con. Greeted by cockroaches in the bathroom in the morning. One operating makeshift kitchen that gave 3 choices of 3 different items in a dinner buffet. No dessert at all, not even a tray set out, not even a bucket of ice cream put out. Remember this is advertised as a 4 star resort. Breakfast was good but limited. When it rained in the evening the halls outside the rooms filled with water. We informed the staff that we were leaving for a proper resort, Expedia attempted they said to obtain a refund for this disaster for me but of course they were unable to make contact with the management. We took a gamble giving an older hotel that wasn't owned by a corporation our business and the reviews seemed to back that. But we were totally deceived and that is so completely unfortunate. People like us save and plan to get away and to be greeted with this experience is unacceptable. I hope the management, if there is one is reading this.
