The property looked cute at first, nice courtyard, decorations, white and blue colour scheme. However, we did not enjoy our stay there. The bathroom didn't have any shampoo, shower gel, towels or hairdryer, and the tap was leaking and making noise 24/7. There was no blanket on the bed either (even though it's winter time and the nights get a bit chilly), the pillows were extremely uncomfortable and gave me a neck pain. The single pane window let all the noise from the street in, so this, coupled with really bad pillows and no blanket, ensured that a restful sleep was out of question. The wifi was really patchy, coming on and off all the time, which was really annoying. They also wanted to take a security deposit in cash, which is a practice I haven't seen in years, if not a decade, and we do travel a lot. So, overall, we do not recommend this hotel.

It is a close walk to the beach. It isnt that far to go to the shopping and watch fireworks . Uber was amazing. The room cleaning people where rude. Expect a wow factor.

They didn’t have blankets for the room. Breakfast was very limited. Coffee was terrible. The bathroom didn’t have an exhaust at all. The staff made me run to the room to bring back remotes on check out and didn’t even know my keys won’t work. It was not worth the money I spent.

Great staff they work around the clock and very polite. Close to the beach, just a short 3 minutes walk to the beach, cab 🚕 in front of the hotel. Nice and clean.

The staff is very courteous, friendly helpful and professional, besides that the hotel’s location is very convenient because there is almost everything you need nearby in a walkable distance, I would definitely stay there again

If your thinking about coming here because it’s a good deal.. Don’t. Pay a little more for somewhere else. Unless you want to ask for towels everyday because they take them and don’t replenish unless you ask. Also elevators were broken. Street noise was wild. If you like sleep don’t come here. No hairdryers available either. If you get the suite with the kitchen, they wont supply sponges or soap. You probably have to ask for that too.

This was a perfect place for a gateway. You can cross the main street for restaurants or the best food place in front of the hotel. Pool was nice and hotel was clean. They only serve continental breakfast

The AC leaked on us all night. Could not sleep. Everything was falling apart from the ice bucket to the hanging soap dish. Extra cost for swimming towels, everything. Good for the price and location. Great place if you want to stay near locals and the swimming pool is awesome.

The hotel does not provide any parking. They do don't have a parking lot for the hotel. You need to find parking on the street, if it's late you might not find parking. Inside my room there was a bad smell coming from the drains.

The folks who run Hotel Mar Elena are wonderful and create a wonderful experience! It is a short walk from the beach and while it doesn’t have a beach view, it has a lovely rooftop pool. Rooms at the east end of the hotel are a bit noisier as they are close to a busy street and a Karaoke Bar that loves to crank the volume, but still quite pleasant. Just with the nature of the set-up, if you have noisy neighbours, you will hear them, but this place seems to have a lot of regulars who know each other and are quite friendly. A safe neighborhood in the hotel zone and a lovely spot for a simple getaway.

This was a hotel/suites combo so a number of guests were there for months. It meant there were great common areas and a wonderful rooftop pool and gathering space. The rooms were basic but large, great redone tile bathrooms and the best and helpful staff.
