I stayed at Riu Jalisco from 9/19-9/23/2024. We did the online check-in and arrived at 1 pm on 9/19/24 we checked in effortlessly, and we were immediately given our room keys and allowed into our room. That was great.
We went to the lunch buffet, and it was average, nothing spectacular but they had a bit of everything, and a snack bar set up right there where you could get nachos, hot dogs, hamburgers, or french fries.
Main pool 1 is laid back has a bar set up and has Iguanas that come out and walk around. Main Pool 2 was busy, had music, and both pools played games, but we preferred Pool 1.It is also very close to towels and the kid pool area. If you go to the sister resort Vallarta, bring towels, they will not give you towels there. The pool was nicer there.
We ate at the steak house it was the best meal we had. We tried the Asian restaurant, it is buffet style, and it was mediocre. We also tried the Italian restaurant, it was not good. We ended up just going for the buffet our last night there, and it was way better than the Italian or Asian restaurant. The buffet offers entrees from both of those and the food quality was better.
The sports bar is airconditioned, and a game of pool is USD 2.50 or 7 pesos.
This is not the worst place I've stayed, it is ok, if you are not a picky eater, and don't need to be waited on hand and foot.
If you are looking at this resort, stay at Vallarta, or go to the Iberostar a little further away. Barcelo is also good.
