The staff is great, but a lot of the property was being remodeled, so the restaurant & pool choices were limited. We had upgraded to Privileged access, however, due to the remodeling in progress, it wasn't really worth it.

I stayed here with my partner for 5 nights, overall a nice property. I stayed on the adult only side, and had access to the family side as well. Overall, a very large resort with plenty of food options. The staff were pretty great, excellent room service/ housekeeping. One of the main pools were under construction and didn’t open until the last night of my stay, which was a bit disappointing. Also wanted to note that the ocean did not have that turquoise Caribbean color that I was looking for, possibly based on the location of the hotel, which was the most disappointing part. Pictures can be somewhat misleading, and had I known the water isn’t turquoise I would not have booked this resort. But other than that the resort was nice and relaxing, with a calm vibe.

The main pool with the swim up bar was closed so we woke up to jackhammers every morning. This resulted in two restaurants being closed. Options for food were limited and the food was flavorless and disappointing. It rained a bit when we were there and there was a huge puddle in the walkway the resort makes no effort to clear. We walked through mud and grass there was no way to avoid it since we had to pass to get to the restaurants and the only pool available. They know it’s a problem and no action to clear it while construction is happening already. The staff was friendly and the place was clean and not over crowded. The bartender in the piano bar with no piano playing was fantastic, I wish I knew her name. The lack of food options and flavorless food was the worst and I would not come back to this resort because of it.

What was suppose to be a wonderful holiday and birthday trip for the both of us was far from wonderful. The adult hotel pool that they show in all their photos is completely under construction (which they dont tell you about). Half of the restaurants on the adult side unavailable as well. The few they do have are unfortunately not worth going to either unless you pay top $$. They make you make reservations for the few restaurants they do have. You make a reservation at one restaurant but yet when you get to that restaurant its closed do to construction and then its a hunt to find which building your suppose to be eating at. Which they dont tell you this either. Then if you also have people who dont make reservations but yet they get seated before us. You also have to walk all the way to the family side to use their large bar, their better restaurants and their pool. Also if you speak English they tell you that everyone at the front desk speaks English but yet when I need help they say "no English or sorry little English". Also we had a horrible experience with a fall I had in our room (concused and vomiting for a entireday), costing me $900.00 (which they said was my fault). So that was a wonderful feeling as Im trying to explain to them if they had proper drains for their pourches or atleast a saftey mat on the floor when you walk back in from your balcony. Unfortunly we heard constant complaints from many people all over the adult resort. All in all spend your money else w

Nobody understood English to help tourists or check in. Many MANY rooms had issues, my family was relocated totally 5 times in our 1 week stay. The main pool area is blocked off for construction. NOBODY mentions it’s 2 hotels in 1 and some restaurants & activities are accessed via other hotel. Poor management.

The customer service was absolutely amazing and food at every restaurant was awesome, but the room (our family had two) were subpar. Our room was very damp at checkin and we could see signs of mold, mildew, and moisture on the walls. The air was blasting and wouldn’t allow us to turn on heat to help warm up or even dry out the room. The ceiling leaked in both rooms from what appeared to be due to turning off the air conditioning all together. Both our rooms had so much condensation in the exact same place, that it made our bedding, and clothes, in our luggage damp. After the first night we did request our bedding be changed, including our blanket, and it was. These rooms were definitely in need of upgrades and we noticed our room didn’t have all the amenities that others did. We called the front office to report what we were experiencing, once the water coming from the ceiling got really bad, and no one showed up. It would have been nice if accommodations were made for us upon checking out.

Workers were extremely nice! Unfortunately the adult side swim up bar is under construction. We were not made aware of this. Beach area is full of trees not really a place to tan. Not as much waves as there is a border around the beach. Food was great.

The resort was really clean and the food was good. It would of been nice to know our Adult side pool was closed for construction prior to arriving. Luckily there wasn't a lot of kids on the family side for the week we were there. Overall experience was goof for our second time at a Catalonia Resort.
