I had a terrible experience at Faranda hotel. I almost got robbed by a local and the staff made it seem as if it was my faul. Completely unacceptable and very unprofessional. They even tried suggesting I go to another hotel for the night. Someone barged in my room and refused to get out when asked to leave. The situation could’ve been handled a lot better in my opinion. That being said, I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. I felt hopeless and scared for my life. Thank goodness I had a villa booked with family for the rest of my stay. But I will never travel out the country a day before my family arrives ever again. That was a huge mistake on my part. But I would’ve appreciated if the staff did better at resolving the problem. I believe his name was Francisco. If so, do better Francisco. This was my first time ever visiting the DR. And my first day was a complete disaster. I had to scream for help, and I felt alone and scared for my life. Very traumatic experience. Suggesting I should leave and book another hotel bc someone refused to leave my room was very shocking. Especially seeing the fact that he tried ROBBING ME! That being said, everyone, do yourself a huge favor and don’t book here. Unless you’re fully armed and ready for battle. I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life and I’m just grateful to be able to even be writing this. Barricading my self I. My hotel room was not on my agenda of things to do while visiting the DR. 0.4/10 stars.
