Beach - the sand and palm tree scenery is amazing. The water is pretty murky with tons of seaweed. Pool - no swim up bar and there’s not enough staff to get drink orders. So enjoy walking to stand in line at a bar for drinks. I never got tipsy. Food - not toddler friendly. Good luck getting them to eat good. But the steaks and dine dining were pretty good. Waterpark - pretty fun place for the kids. Just a long walk.. Bowling is not free which stinks, and it’s very limited on space.

Enjoyed our girls trip! If looking for more activities such as pool party’s best to go during the weekend. During the week is pretty chill vibes throughout the resort. Sport Bar was fun vibes , staff was friendly! Food was good throughout the stay. They have a restaurant that’s open 24/7. Which is a plus. Room service as well.

The property grounds are beautiful and because the resort is so big it never feels crowded. Staff are nice, most of them. The beach is huge, beautiful white sand. However, let’s start with the rooms, housekeeping needs to learn how to clean better. There was pubic hairs in the shower from other guest and the shower walls were dirty. There was dried up bird poop on our balcony when we arrived and it was never cleaned in the 4 nights we were there. The bath robes they have in their closet was dirty. The bedsheets were rough not soft, very cheap material. Room service takes around 50 minutes. Buffet is not good, low quality like fast food quality and some items even worse. They let flys sit on the food. Many items are not hot, they cool. Very hard to get reservations for the sit down restaurants even if you book them as soon as you get to the hotel. Hotels website is very difficult to navigate and they do not have good Wi-Fi. Entertainment. They have an auditorium where they have nightly shows and it’s enclosed indoors and has no air conditioner. It was so hot half the people were getting up and leaving. I did not like the beach area because there are many boats that dock right in front of the hotel and play loud music all day so you cannot relax and they rope it off so you do not have a large area to be able to swim.

We had such a wonderful experience at Lopesan Costa Bávaro! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Every single staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and truly seemed to enjoy making our stay special. The Unique buffet and bar were absolutely AMAZING—a major highlight of our trip. Huge shoutout to everyone working there—you all made each meal feel like a luxury experience. Special thanks to Kelvin, who we also saw at the Mexican restaurant (which was one of our two favorites!). Hendrick at the Italian restaurant was also phenomenal—super professional and kind. We also really enjoyed the French restaurant—the food and atmosphere were fantastic! The Atlantico buffet was very good with a wide variety of options, and Goldfish quickly became one of our go-to spots—one of the servers there had such an amazing personality, and I wish I remembered his name because he truly made us smile every time! The infinity pool was massive and gorgeous—perfect for relaxing. While it could be tricky to get a chair in the best spot after 11 AM on weekends, there were always plenty available if you didn’t mind walking a few extra steps. Yes, there was sargassum in the ocean (as we could even see from the plane), but that’s typical for the region and didn’t deter us. We even had a full day where w

too big needs shuttles, does not mention adults only pool is seperate and foam party’s are seperate. staff does not know english at all. restaurant reservations were all booked out the entire week. resort was very pretty too large, be prepared to walk wherever you need to go to in the resort. I rarely write negative reviews, but my stay at this resort was unfortunately far from enjoyable. The service overall was very poor, starting right from the moment we arrived. The check-in process was a mess — we had to wait over 2 hours just to get our room keys, with barely any communication or apology from the staff. Things didn’t improve once we got to the room. Room service was extremely slow, taking nearly an hour just to get hot water delivered. To make things worse, the room itself was dirty and poorly maintained, which was shocking for a resort of this supposed standard. The reception staff was unhelpful, and it felt like every request was a burden. Be warned: English is barely spoken here. Unless you speak Spanish, you might want to take a language course before arriving — communication was a constant struggle. Now, to be fair, there were a few highlights. The food variety was excellent, and the resort grounds, swimming pool, and drink options were all very enjoyable. It’s a shame that such a beautiful location is being let down by such poor service and lack of hospitality. In short, not worth the stress. If management doesn’t address these serious service issues, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Overall 3/5 average stay considering the 5-star resort category and pricing. We had to change rooms and had multiple room issues with water leakage and noisy A/C. The theater where the night shows are presented is also extremely hot and the A/C was only functioning 2/7 days. Food was really good specifically at the beach buffet, asado and other restaurants. The property itself is very beautiful with a lot of walking, stores, and options for entertainment. Service is fantastic at the restaurants for dinner and buffets but is lacking in other areas like guest services, reception, bars, etc. Employees cannot take drink orders at the pool for example, you must leave the pool and place an order yourself at the bar and request someone brings your order to you which defeats the purpose if you're already out of the pool and at the bar.
