Family Getaway

We chose this resort for a family getaway after the holidays. Following up on previous reviews, there was miscellaneous furniture laying in walkways/open areas on a few of the days. The food was excellent and always appeared fresh. We had no concerns with sanitary conditions in the restaurants. The staff was friendly. Our biggest concerns relate to the hotels.com booking. We booked 2 junior suites which are advertised as 2 double beds or 1 king bed. In communication prior to trip, we requested one room with king bed and one room with two double beds for our family of 6. On arrival, we were told that none of the rooms have double beds, but they could provide roll-away beds. We received one additional bed, but after multiple phone calls,walks to the main desk,and empty promises,we did not receive a second roll-away bed, and one person slept on the little couch for the entire stay. Hotels.com should not advertise double bed rooms if they truly aren't available. The reservation is marked as 'fully refundable' prior to a certain date. This is not true. We needed to make an adjustment to our travel dates and contacted them well before the refundable date. Communication was awful and hotels.com stated that majestic was not responsive to their inquiries. At one point, hotels.com stated that I should request early checkout and they would refund the amount. Now, hotels.com is now stating that the won't refund. Overall, property is beautiful and relaxing, but issues are possible.

The resort was very relaxing and the staff was very nice. The place was clean and the staff was very attentive to our needs. The majestic colonial is a great stay. Some things that weren’t always pleasing were some of the food options the hibachi is by far the best with close second the Caribbean place. Overall though very enjoyable would recommend!

The service and amenities were good. The beach was great. There were a lot of activities to do. However, I suffered from vomiting and diarrhea during our last day because of a bad dish I ate at one of the resort’s restaurants the night before. I am pretty sure that it was food from the resort because we did not eat any other food.

Lots to do on this resort. Friendly staff, good food, and always a place to lay by pool or beach. There was a lot of workers making noise late at night and early in the morning working on a room next door, then the elevator and then Dismantling a wedding at 1 am so that is my only complaint…not quiet.

Beautiful resort, adults only pools were small and more like a “lazy river” Food was great drinks were strong, beautiful beaches. Nice rooms, but the outside doors felt too small for the frames they were in, as the had negative space all around so you could see light and hear EVERY little noise from the echoing hallway and construction around the clock

We loved our stay there. Great dining options. Terrific entertainment. The staff were excellent especially elPideo at Le Gourmet, Daniel at the front desk and a whol e host of others. The property is very big and their dining otions are spaced out so you don't have to take a trip to go eat. Lol. Rooms are a little older but well maintained. Will be a great resort not only for adults but for families also. Love how they have an adult only section for those interested in such options. And their magnificient beach..? I was sold on that. I visited with the wife, but we are coming back with the kids.

Large comfortable room where everything worked. Huge bath towels. Plenty of closet space. One of the best beaches ever with tons of lounge chairs and shade. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The cafeteria restaurants served an abundant selection of food, even for a vegetarian like me and a meat eater like my wife. The specialty restaurants were reasonably easy enough to make reservations and served good food. The wines and spirits were plenty for Fun entertainment at night. Well equipped Gym. An attractively priced and good quality resort style golf course five minutes away.

The resort truly is beautiful, I loved the scenery filled with trees, flowers and plants. The beach is also beautiful. Most of the staff is very pleasant, they greet you as they pass by. The only thing I didn’t like was the service in the buffet. They need to work on making sure that there actually is food available. The majority of the time they had empty pans and they didn’t seem concerned with replenishing even when there is still much time until meal times were supposed to end.
