We had a great time at this resort with our kids. We specifically enjoyed all the dining options and the convenience of the pool and beach. We definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, especially with children.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The check-in process was smooth, but I felt the staff could have been a bit more welcoming. It would’ve been helpful if they provided more information about the hotel’s amenities and activities, as I wasn’t fully informed about what was available.The room was ok pretty basic .The pool without the swim bar was a definite highlight Alfredo was AMAZING always made sure we had drinks – absolutely amazing! We were also able to find seats throughout the day without any issues-we were with kids so we did not go near the pool with the swim up bar since it was packed with adults & we didn’t want the kids to splash them while they were hanging out drinking. The buffet was pretty basic not many “ fresh “ grilled options . But , Arias was amazing with great service and very friendly to all of us . However, I did find that some of the food options weren’t very kid-friendly, and the bread was rock hard.While the hotel does advertise a waterpark, it’s about a 15-minute walk away, which was a bit inconvenient. I also think there should have been more activities for children to keep them entertained. On the positive side, we loved the night shows – they were a fun way to wrap up the day. Our last night we saw a lot of bugs in this theater. One downside of the beach was the seaweed( I know the time of the year ). Still, we managed to enjoy our time there, but overall, I think there’s some room for improvement.

My wife and I, along with friends, have spent 4 consecutive summers visiting the Riu Palace Punta Cana, and for the first time, I have to say goodbye. From 2024 to 2025, the hotel has deteriorated significantly: rooms with bathrooms in poor condition, the ceiling fan not working, and the air conditioning making noise that was never fixed despite requesting it twice. There is almost no entertainment for 80% of the day, beaches with seaweed that were not cleaned in 4 days while the Bahia Principe hotel next door was clean by the second day. The fruit and ice cream service around the large pool no longer exists, and they no longer offer bottled water. Many days had only two people serving drinks around the large pool. The only positive was the good treatment from Esteban in the buffet, Yodalis in the beverage service at night during the shows, and Polanco at the Luigi restaurant. So, sadly, we say goodbye to RIU, good luck.

I checked in my room. The room was so smelly. The fridge was dirty, the bathroom was all soap scum, the bedsheets had stains. The floor was so dusty. I had to call them to clean the room as soon as I got in. They are filthy in this resort. A lot of other guests were also complaining
