Fantastic place to stay

Fantastic hotel with amazing rooms. The staff are fantastic and extremely polite. The hotel puts on activities which are great for children and adults each day. Definitely recommended.

Amazing hotel and staff! My every need was met and there was always a staff member close by who was willing to help. We arrived early and our rooms were not ready, they took our bags from us and allowed us to get ready in the change rooms. We went to our excursion and came back to find our luggage in our rooms! They even offered late check out for us! Ahmed is the best bartender ever! Made the best drinks and always had a smile on his face! Too many amazing staff to call out. I will miss Lux Marijani and the memories I had made over that week! The only down side I would say is the location is a bit far from stone town and other excursions around Zanzibar. However, the remote location makes for relaxation, quiet and great beaches! Expect a minimum of 1.5 hours each way to commute into the city areas like Stone Town. Other than that, for what you get in quality and celebrity treatment, the distance is the minimum of your worries! The staff literally cater to your every need! One other story, I came back from an excursion and needed dental floss. A staff member was prepared to call a pharmacy to get someone to deliver it to my room. I declined because it wasn’t necessary but just goes to demonstrate how serious they take guest satisfaction! Loved this place and will miss it tremendously.

My husband and I didn’t spend a lot of time on the property as we got married on the beach at a nearby hotel….but they decorated the room and had flowers for us at reception when we returned from our wedding. The staff is super friendly, grounds are clean and customer service is great.

Very stylishly designed hotel. Beautiful decor & tropical gardens leading to a picture perfect white sandy beach. Gorgeous large comfortable rooms. The perfect place to chill after our safari’s & stay in Stone Town. Thank you to the chef for fantastic food, especially the curries. All the staff were so lovely and the service was great. We also enjoyed the low tide sea safari with one of the staff. We highly recommend this as a beautiful chilled place to stay.

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at LUX at the end of May — the place is absolutely beautiful! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the staff made our experience truly special. A big shoutout to Kennedy at the front desk — his hospitality was out of this world! So pleasant and polite, he took the time to show us around and made us feel at home right away. Huge thanks to Abdul at the cashier desk for the amazing upgrade to the Executive Beach Front Room #9 — what a treat! And Ali at Café LUX, thank you for your help — such a well-mannered young man. We will definitely be coming back again!

Hotel is nice. You do get hassled on the beach. The different food and drinks packages are confusing so do your maths on regular intake. Hotel is expensive but so are all hotels in Zanzibar.

Other than the beds we found to be too hard even though we asked for the soft one, the rest of our stay was amazing the different dinning themes, the pool, the ocean being right there. But the highlight was the staff they are so friendly and absolutely give you the best service.

Pina’s genuine care and energy elevated our entire experience, and it’s safe to say she’s the heart of the hospitality at Lux*. Another standout was Fadna at the Lux* Café. Her Zanzibar Iced Coffee is a must-try—absolutely divine and the perfect reflection of the local flavors. Fadna’s passion for her craft shines through in every sip and interaction, making each visit to the café a delightful experience. Lux* Hotel Zanzibar provided not just a place to stay but a collection of unforgettable memories. The incredible staff, especially Pina and Fadna, turned our vacation into something truly magical. Beautiful hotel but very very hot …

It is a beautiful hotel!!! So nice place !!! Unfortunately there is not air acondition is any place , at room air condition did not work properly and they did I not do anything about it … our room says for 3 people but unfortunately space did not permit it so we had to take another room . For price it is not good but I have to say it is a very beatific place . Another annoying thing it is that you can not go to water at the beach, as the Masai do not allow you without charge you 150 usd to go with your to water …. It is imposible to go out of hotel boundary … they put in front animals to say that it is unsafe to walk in there ..::
