The best thing about this hotel is its location. It's basically walking distance to most attractions. The room is clean and no complaint. The sound insulation is not the best because the building is old. There is no elevator, only stairs. The restaurant downstairs is very good option for breakfast. There is not much of a front desk service, and there is no parking. So if you are OK with the above, then this is a great little hotel to stay at in Old Quebec City.
We did not get the reservation we had booked, the hotel overbooked and wanted us to stay at another location they had picked for us outside of the area we wanted, so I refused and told them to issue a credit. I had booked over a month prior, so I don’t understand why it took them until the few hours on the day we were to arrive to advise us that we no longer had the room. I have never been so disappointed, we ended having to change our travel plans. I would never recommend anyone to go to Hotel Louisbourg .

The hotel is old and has no elevator, which I think is not unusual in the old town. The carpet
is worn, however our 2nd floor was clean and perfectly fine. The free breakfast is offered at the restaurant next door and limited to a few basic items, unless you pay an upcharge from the menu.
Location is really good on the main street near the old gate so able to walk to everything. Note: lots of hills, wear good walking shoes!

Check in is at a different location just a few doors away and not clearly stated. So some guests were a bit confused and there is no reception desk at this hotel so if you need help with your bags, you’re on your own. But the location is great and our room was nice. So we were quite happy.

Great location, not the room the more clean I have seen. The lobby is located in another hotel. It is very hard to contact the hotel prior or during the stay (they don’t reply to their email, hotels.com chat and phone call).
This hotel is in an unsafe area and no one was at the front desk when needed. The young man was nice and tried to help but it seems to be poorly managed. The problem with air conditioning in room was never resolved and no one was there when I checked out, they didn’t even answer the emergency number that was posted at the other hotel you had to check in at.

Close to old port and citadel. No elevators nor reception. We asked for lower floor when booked 5-6 months ahead, but they never read the mail and put us on the third floor.
My room was lovely and quaint.
The property is in the heart of Old Quebec City
The only problems were:
a)while trying to phone for information, even though I chose the English option, information followed in French spoken very quickly.
b) the fellow at the desk was very helpful but you couldn’t get into the lobby until 11:00 the day I arrived to leave my luggage and 2:30 the day I was trying to check out.
c) there are no elevators so it was a struggle to get my heavy suitcase up and down the stairs.
d) the tv was only in French
If you can manage the above comments, I had a great room.
The apartment was on the 4th floor, no elevators; very steep staircase; two lamps broken and did not work, TV did not work. Staff did not know how to repair.

Getting to the hotel was a pain, so was parking. Room was quaint, renovated nicely in an old building. Tv didnt work, and neither did most of the outlets. In a very lively part of old Quebec, Several nice restaurants, lubs, attractions within a short walk
Check in was a nightmare. They said they had baggage storage but reception was closed. We waited and then a maid happened to come by and let us leave our bags. When we check in they said they would send up towels when they arrived. We never got them. Tv didn't work. No remote. The room was big. It was on 2nd floor so the stairs weren't too bad. They never answered emails or phone before we got there which was frustrating. Breakfast next door was amazing. Location of hotel was great. If you had a question during stay it was hit or miss catching someone at reception.
The check in desk and hotel location is different . That is the problem specially raining day …
The room is poor than I expect …
Anyway I am not enjoy this hotel.
The photos on the Expedia website looked attractive and the price was in our budget range. We liked the neighbourhood - it's charming and close to all the attractions in Old Quebec. There isn't a restaurant in the building but there are lots of good options nearby. The wifi worked well. There are no staff on site, so be prepared to hunt them down in an adjoining building In our room, the furniture was shabby. There were no bedside tables - just a log stump (not kidding) on one side of the Queen bed. The other side of the bed was so close to the wall that it was impossible to get in or out on that side. The shower was tiny and had nowhere to place toiletries. The bar fridge rattled and hummed. There weren't enough pillows. Walls were paper thin - we could hear folks talking at normal levels in nearby rooms. I hope this was the worst room in the hotel. It would be nice if some of the rooms came close to the charm shown in the online photos.
Easy to find. Good communication. Friendly service. Clean rooms. Only negative is lots of stairs, especially hard with heavy luggage!

headboard missing from bed. Sink clogged with plastic debris and wads of hair, not staffed 24/7. staff did not answer the phone to set up wake up calls. Very loud ice machine on the second floor where we stayed that we were instructed not to use it was strictly for the restaurant which was not on the second floor. Two of every towel but only one washcloth. Very inconvenient for seniors who have knee or back problems 24 stairs up to the second floor. If you're on the back side of the first floor you have to go up the 24 and then down 24 on the back side to get to your room and then reverse that to exit the building. No elevator. Had I known this I would have never selected this hotel. Check in time isn't until after 4:00 p.m. that's a little late and you arrive on a cruise ship at 8:00 in the morning. The room was modernized and pleasant. No screens on the windows. The rooms were very hot when we arrived. Staff fixed that by turning the central air to the whole floor down IE you don't have control of your own room temperature. The second night the AC being very loud ran for hours dropping my room to 66°. There was no staff at 8:00 p.m. to remedy this. If you like the 24/7 convenience of Hilton Marriott etc you will not likely care for this facility. The staff were very friendly when they were available. Which was only the one time during check-in. difficult it is to lug a 50 lb suitcase up and down 24 stairs.
For this location to be considered, a three star is absolutely outrageous. There is no on-site staff whatsoever and you need to go down the road to be able to check in and get a key. The room was just big enough for a bed and had cobwebs all over And was very old and outdated. As someone who stays in hotels around 200 days a year this was a huge disappointment.
