There is a small parking lot on the property, but there’s also public parking available across the street. The main entrance of the hotel was under repair during our stay, and unfortunately, there was a funky smell when you walked in. The room itself was okay—neatly appointed with a mini kitchen and a spacious bathroom. However, the bathroom had a small vanity, the fan didn’t work, and there was visible mold forming in the shower. The room was uncomfortably hot, and the thermostat didn’t work. The AC also wasn’t functioning, so the room felt stuffy. I contacted the front desk to ask for help with either the heat or air conditioning, but I was told the AC was shut off for the winter and nothing could be done. I then reached out to Expedia (through whom we booked), and the next day, an AC control unit was finally installed in our room. After that, the room was much more comfortable, and we were able to sleep better. On a positive note, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

This was SUCH a nice stay. We were here for 4 days for my husband’s 40th birthday. We arrived extremely late but the front desk could not have been more gracious getting us checked in. It was an incredibly smooth process, and the gentleman working the desk was delightful. Our room was absolutely perfect - heated floors in the bathroom, the shower and soaking tub of my dreams, a mattress that was incredibly comfortable (which is so often not the case in hotels) and just beautiful, tasteful, elegant decor in a lovely, historic building. There were also amazing, thoughtful touches like comfortable robes for our use. The location was also absolutely perfect - right outside Le Petite Champlain and at the foot of the ramparts. It could not have been more walkable, and the location also provided for easy parking, despite seasonal construction, and was far enough away from the busiest part of the city that it was quiet and easy to sleep at night. Checkout was smooth and easy and, again, all staff was pleasant, friendly, and very competent. Cannot say enough positive things about this hotel - from location to the physical room, it was everything we hoped for and more.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and is very impressed overall. The location is fantastic—just a 12-minute walk from the train station and surrounded by great restaurants, making it incredibly convenient for both travel and dining. The staff were another highlight: professional, friendly, and always willing to help. The rooms are well appointed, modern, and comfortable, showing real attention to detail in both design and amenities. However, the gym was a real letdown. For a hotel that excels in so many areas, the outdated and poorly equipped fitness center was disappointing. It felt like an afterthought, which is surprising given the otherwise high standards throughout the property. All in all, I’d still recommend this hotel for its location, service, and quality—just don’t expect much if you’re planning to work out during your stay.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Une expérience tout à fait INCROYABLE au Port Royal ! Dès mon arrivée à l’Hôtel Port Royal, j’ai su que j’étais entre de bonnes mains. L’accueil chaleureux à la réception a immédiatement donné le ton à mon séjour : professionnalisme, courtoisie, et sourire sincère. Le personnel est tout simplement exceptionnel – toujours disponible, attentionné, et prêt à rendre service avec générosité. Ma chambre? Un véritable bijou! Spacieuse, élégamment décorée avec une touche moderne et historique à la fois, elle offrait un confort digne des plus grands hôtels. Le lit était un nuage moelleux, la salle de bain impeccable, et la petite cuisine toute équipée m’a permis de me sentir comme à la maison… mais en mieux! Le charme de l’hôtel, installé dans un bâtiment historique au cœur du Vieux-Québec, est irrésistible. L’emplacement est parfait : à deux pas du port, des rues pittoresques, des restos délicieux et des boutiques locales. J’ai pu tout faire à pied, ce qui a ajouté une belle touche d’authenticité à mon escapade. Mention spéciale au restaurant de l’hôtel où chaque bouchée était une explosion de saveurs. Bref, mon séjour au Port Royal a surpassé toutes mes attentes. Que vous soyez en voyage d’affaires, en couple ou en escapade solo, c’est le choix parfait pour vivre Québec avec style et confort. J’y retournerai sans hésitation! Merci à toute l’équipe – vous avez transformé un simple séjour en souvenir mémorable. 💛

The property was in a good location, close to several bus stops and within 10 minutes of the main attractions. The only downside was the property was undergoing construction, which began early in the morning and obstructed the entrance.

I had a very nice two-night stay in one of the suites. It was spacious and clean equipped with kitchen utensils. So you can cook if you get tired of dining out. My suite was pet friendly in the first floor but I haven’t heard any barking or any other noise. Staff was very polite and friendly. The location is very good and you can get to the old port tourist spots in 10 minutes walk.
