It was an interesting experience, you will enter a very silent environment, it is so calm that it will be a challenging experience to go to the bathroom at night without making noise when opening and closing doors! It is definitely a retreat experience!
History around the city. I stayed in a single room with shared bathroom..no problem..clean clean. Definitely would like come back and stay longer, was able to enjoy the sights and Christmas Market
Such a terrific place to stay in Quebec City. Everyone was so friendly and the history of the monastery is fascinating. We particularly enjoyed breakfast where there was much tranquility and such varied and delicious food.
The property was exactly as described, we stayed in an original cell room, we had a sink but had to use a shared bathroom which was a bit of a walk down the hall. Breakfast was included and there was a bit of variety each day, we were close to everything in the old city and had no problems walking to everything we had planned the museum inside the hotel was filled with beautiful artifacts in amazing displays, the staff were wonderful and spoke English
Being a monastery converted into a hotel, the experience was unique and different from usual hotels.Very clean, quiet and confortable. The looks are truly authentic but the confort is modern.
Be aware that this is an actual monastery. There is no talking allowed in the breakfast room. You must eat in the lobby to talk. There is also no maid service. You can leave your towels outside your door if you want clean ones dropped off at your door.
This hotel offers a different experience. It is not just a hotel, but a moment of reflection in your life. Everything is perfectly thought out and organized to ensure a comfortable stay and to take home good memories.
Great hotel concept, I enjoyed walking around and looking at the paintings and antique furniture. Excellent way to use and preserve the historic buildings. Excellent breakfast as well!
This contemplative hotel is warm, welcoming, simple and quiet. It is encouraging for an introspective visit, but also supports others for whom it is a perch in Old Quebec.
In the contemporary rooms the bathrooms are very, very deep and could be awkward for a disabled person. There is no TV in the room. Kind, warm and welcoming people. This is an outstanding place to visit.
Although different from a standard hotel stay, this place was amazing. Everything about it was relaxing, and I can't wait to stay on my next visit to Quebec.
Very enjoyable, clean, great location! Just be prepared if you are driving and have never been to QC Old City that it’s very tight with lots of one way streets
I my opinion, the non speaking breakfast was a bit awkward for my husband and me. This might of been stated in the write up of this hotel, but I did not realize this request,
From the moment you walk in you are surrounded by peace and beauty. This is a special place, the staff is very helpful and the beds are amazingly comfortable. The spirit of the Augustinians helps support both a calm and strength. Be sure to take advantage of the guided walks and yoga classes as well as the breakfast (in silence) in the restaurant.
Perfect location for Old Quebec. Staff helpful. Peaceful stay - nice not to have TV noise/distraction. Liked focus on well being. Silent breakfasts encouraged mindful eating. Recommend taking guided tour of museum.
Unique property. Beautiful design. Monastery from 1649 with metal and glass lobby and restaurant. Shared bathrooms on floors extremely clean and modern. Enjoyed the breakfast. All guests respect each other and no noise, low speaking allowed.
