You can’t beat chilling in the pool with a drink in hand while watching a sloth climbing a tree, toucans singing, and macaws flying overhead. Nor does anything beat the monkey visit on the balcony. Also Javier in the restaurant is THE MAN.

We really enjoyed our stay. Great customer service from every staff member we interacted with. We loved having access to the beach nearby. Happy hour every afternoon by the pool. Lots of wildlife just at our balcony, including sloths, toucans, and monkeys. We loved the stunning ocean view! Decent breakfast buffet included. We had dinner once on site which was ok. Enjoyed my massage. Johnny was great in helping us book our excursion.

Room was nice and clean. Parking was scary. Lol Pools were ok but pretty small and basic. Beach was a long walk down but pretty nice little beach. Walk back up is not super easy. All in all it was a nice place and the staff were all very friendly.

Lets start by saying that the staff is nice and friendly. But, The hotel is nothing like the pictures, I booked it specifically because of the views, the rooms are not cleaned, BATHROOMS: are nasty, and broken, beds is really hard, electricity and water went off while I was in the shower, towels are not in good shape, the ends are all broken, I requested an Iron since there is non in the room and it was all dirty and it messed up my clothes, PARKING: is a nightmare, it was time for us to leave and there was a car blocking us and we had to wait almost 2 hrs for them to find the driver when there is a guy 24hr right where we parked and did not say anything to the people blocking us, RESTAURANT: looks like a school cafeteria, prices are high just like all places in manuel antonio, they included the tip in the check and still the server came after us walking asking for cash, we always leave good tips everywhere we go but just dont like being asked for it, specially when is added in the bill. BEACH: dont expect it to be there, you have to go down a hill and up and towels for the beach you have to get at pool area and make sure to give it back or you will be charged 20.00 x each. I paid 680.00 us for 2 nights which is not cheap and I was really expecting a nicer hotel.

We had a wonderful week long stay at Shana. Our 7 year old daughter had a blast at the pool and the beach nearby (hotel has direct access). We saw so much wildlife right from our balcony! Staff were very nice and helpful and assisted us with making plans in the area. Shana also set us up with transportation to/from the airport. We appreciated the hospitality!

A little out of the way and the food was pricey but beautiful and close to the beach which can be a trek from other hotels. Currently building additional rooms so a bit noisy but not too bad.

The property is gorgeous, filled with beautiful vegetation and flowering shrubs, and trees. It is bursting with unique, birds, butterflies, and monkeys. We even spotted sloths in the trees multiple times with the help of the friendly staff. Our accommodation were clean and comfortable.

Great hotel for the price. Due to location, the property is on a very steep hill so be prepared to get your work out. Also, the beach is not 4 min, more like a 15 min hike. My husband and I did not mind it at all as we liked the exercise. We would definitely recommend ( did not receive the VIP amenities though, just a room upgrade for 3/4 nights. We had to move to a different room on the 4th night)

The Hotel is nice. On a hill! There are NOT activities planned in the hotel, you are in your own. The bedrooms doors connected to next door bedrooms aren’t safe, I requested adding a lock on the 3 doors… they did! Going to the beach is a 10 minutes walking, but the beach is AWESOME!

Mixed Experience at Shana Resort - Better Options Available Nearby TL;DR: While Shana Resort isn't terrible, it's not worth the price when Parador Resort is literally 100 yards away offering significantly better value and amenities. As someone who has worked in the resort industry for 6 years, I have a keen eye for service standards and guest experience quality. I recently spent 8 nights in Manuel Antonio, splitting my stay between two resorts. After four exceptional nights at Parador Resort, my remaining four nights at Shana Resort were quite disappointing by comparison. The Good: The staff at Shana were friendly and accommodating. When I expressed my concerns, they were kind and even offered a restaurant voucher, though they couldn't provide the refund I requested. The Reality: At similar price points, the difference in quality and service was stark. Having worked in hospitality, I understand what constitutes good value, and here's what you miss at Shana compared to Parador: Room Quality Issues: - No complimentary water bottles (replenished daily at Parador) - No privacy on the balcony - Cheap soap that smells like dish detergent (vs. lovely lemongrass at Parador) - No bathrobes provided - Rooms run warm with inadequate AC - Toilet requires 10+ seconds of flushing to work properly - No blackout curtains (room gets bright early) - Only two pillows for a king-size bed - Cheap furniture and poor attention to detail (artwork not even centered) Noise Issues: - Constant noise fro

This was the perfect property for our first visit to Manuel Antonio. The rooms were spacious ane comfortable. We saw monkeys on our balcony! We didn’t have a rooms with a view but I imagine the higher floors must have stunning views. The pool was beautiful and relaxing and had a plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for shade. The monkeys gave us quite a show in the late afternoon hopping balcony to balcony. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner there as well. We received amazing service from Javier, Edgar, Allan, Jazmin. And the beach was stunning and we loved walking right down the trail. The trail itself was so pretty with all of the flowers and vegetation but fair warning it was rocky and muddy and a very steep climb coming back. Wear tennis or sturdy shoes. It was a nice little hike! We rented chairs and umbrellas and standup paddleboards at the beach for not too much money. And we had delicious drinks and excellent service from the beach stands. There is no reason not to stay at Shana by the Beach! Rides to restaurants and Manuel Antonio National Park were about $10 each way. Enjoy!

Very glad we chose Shana!

The property is small and charming; all the staff is so hospitable. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The beach is small and can be crowded but it is beautiful and the walk down to the beach is a nice fantastic jungle hike . We had monkeys on our veranda daily. The pool temp was perfect. The food is great. The breakfast buffet is more than substantial. The only disappointment is the spa only had one worker and no availability though signs up everywhere advertising it. Felt silly and useless. We would most definitely stay here again!

It's a short walk to a great beach and breakfast is fantastic. Best gallo pinto we had on our trip! Our room was huge but a little dated. The staff was excellent and we loved our stay at Shana!

This resort is beautiful!! All the staff members were very professional and very respectful! My fiancé and I had a great time! The beach is a little difficult to get to and the walks are a little steep, but it is definitely worth it as they have Kevin that drives you back-and-forth. Property needs bit of a facelift not as luxurious as I thought it would be from photos It was a weekend when we arrived so lots of locals had come to the hotel and music and sports matches on the TVs were blasting out by the pool, quiter and more relaxing on Monday Surrounding trees and views were lovely and great seeing monkeys and birds snd a sloth from our balcony which was such a highlight Room 326 had a great balcony for wildlife spotting Breakfast was average
