Rooms were not cleaned on arrival. A phone call to the inn keeper was successful in getting someone to come out immediately to clean the guest house. For the price of this rental, the property was tired and rundown. The shower overflowed/leaked. The kitchen was nice even though we did not use it.

The host was amazingly helpful getting us into the apartment, as we had arrived early. She allowed us in to store our luggage while we got some lunch. The apartment was spacious and comfortable beds/pillows. Close to the Harbour and restaurants. The couch in the living area was extemely uncomfortable and broken. This should be replaced for future guests. Otherwise very pleased with our choice at Kartuki.

Great place to stay for multiple days. The apartment has pretty much everything.

Had a terrible experience in this hotel. It’s self checkin and spooky with no one to help or attend to you. If you’re a solo traveler make sure you demand few things They gave me a room in their outdoor terrace on the highest floor all the way at the building corner. It was isolating uncomfortable. Very spooky I requested for a change & no one responds for hours. I compromised and slept and woke up in terror with my room door flung open- vvvv scary and unacceptable. They finally transferred me to another room Big inconvenience. Horrible experience leading to a poor stay in the city. Shower doesn’t have a door and water leaks out all the way Don’t choose if alone esp female

The "blackout" blinds did not black out anything in the bedroom, not able to sleep. The noise from the street below also made it impossible to sleep. It appears they have since removed these promises from their listing. They still refused to give me a refund, even though their Orbitz listing falsely claimed blackout blinds and a noise free apartment.

A very good experience

I called ahead for an early check in but was told no. I was told that we could drop our luggage and come back at 4. I was told there was someone on site at all times although that's not what the booking said. When we arrived to drop the luggage, we could not find anyone and waited for about 15 minutes while our taxi meter was still ticking. We finally just left our luggage. Everyone is asked to remove their shoes at the door. Check-in went smoothly. Rooms were small and beds slept ok but pillows were very flat and all bedding could use an update. Towels were so rough they felt like sandpaper. One positive thing is it was close to the airport but the owner did charge us around $40 to take us to the airport. Just saying, I would not stay here again
