Unreal experience! Sleeping under the stars in a cozy glass igloo was pure magic. Warm, comfortable, and truly once-in-a-lifetime. Highly recommend!

Glamping under the stars

Nice glamming stay. Some issues (eg heater did not work, coffeemaker broken), but they fixed promptly.

Such a great unique experience. We got the igloo with the private bathroom which was worth every penny. We could lay in bed and watch the Icelandic ponies graze in the pasture behind. Each unit was very private with curtains to pull around for extra privacy. We were there on a hot day but the evening was cool so our unit was comfortable to sleep and the sleep mask provided helped with the sun. Recommend!

Issues with Igloo

We were excited to stay here and are not a picky couple. We think the idea and location is great, but the crack/rip in the floor I kept catching my foot on sucked. The shower is literally so tiny. The igloo was cool, but in the summer, the hot sun was not very nice and the AC unit couldn’t keep up. At night the heater wasn’t very good, blowing cold air. I looked up how to use the remote lol … the door was hard to lock and unlock. You have to lift the handle but no sign saying to do so. Finally, no housekeeping done and we were going to stay for 3 days but left a day early because it wasn’t comfortable. There was dust in the vents in the WC. The view is pretty, but an bit anticlimactic… just a field. Maybe it’s better in winter time, but it’s def more a glamping experience. Also, we had dirty/stained sheets and only 2 rolls of toilet paper for 3 days for two people. We ran out on day two and had to buy one. I’m glad places like this exist but if you are planning on staying, make it only one night. Oh, and the flies buzzing inside our igloo were terrible and I found dead ones under the bed. Could have been better with that. I slept in a tent on the Laugavegur Trail during this trip so I’m not a princess. I think they could do a lot better! We lost a few hundred dollars on this one. Go all the way to Vik and stay there. Much better accommodations there.

The view and the space are amazing, but they forgot to provide us towel. They have AC and heater so the guests can adjust the temperature.

From the moment we arrived, the experience felt surreal like stepping into a dream. The igloo itself was cozy, warm, and beautifully designed with panoramic glass walls that made stargazing and watching the Northern Lights absolutely breathtaking. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, always making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The amenities were top-notch, and we appreciated the little touches — from the local snacks provided to the thoughtful guide on when to expect peak aurora activity. This was one of the most unique and awe-inspiring travel experiences we’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that combines comfort, nature, and wonder — the Aurora Igloo is the place to be. We’re already dreaming about going back. 5/5 stars – Highly recommended! ⸻ Would you like to personalize it with details like location, season, or who you traveled with?

It was an incredibly unique experience with amazing views of the country side and the midnight sunset! The igloo was plenty spacious for two people and more private than you think. Easily cooled or heated, but be careful of the morning sun heating the igloo up! Highly recommend you give it a try!

It was a unique hotel and as advertise many of the questions don’t really apply to this type of experience.

Gordon, THE WOODLANDS

Firstly, the service room does not have a direction noted at the entrance to the poperty. The confirmation letter has a aerial photogragh however the view is not from the entrance. A highlighted road would be nice. The picture on Expedia depicts a unit with and attached shower and toilet. What I rented was just a bedroom dome. It was an experience. A very cold night with multiple restroom stops will not make you a happy camper. The igloo is like glamping. The service room offers toilets, showers, towels and specialty coffee machine. The internet has a choice of standard or 5G. There is no back up generator. We lost area wide power for a few hours after midnight. The igloo got extremely cold. The sleepless night caused a big rift in out activities for the next day. We called the provided number to ask how to find the service room to pick up our key three times. We called when the power went out. The calls were answered. There is no onsite personnel. Cleaning occurs in the morning. If towels run out in the evening you my be out of luck for a shower.

It was definitely a cool experience, although I would just caution people that sleeping here when it's light for almost 24 hours will definitely be a much different experience than when it's very dark. During the lighter months, you will not see the northern lights but it's still very fun!

Great night in the igloo. We only stayed one night and we had the BEST show of the northern lights. Overall great time. Not sure if I would have stayed more nights just due to the small area of the igloo and the non private bathroom /showers. But it was great for one night. Must do

Gorgeous stay in the dome!

We spent one night here as a fun novelty. Unfortunately it was cloudy, so we didn't see the northern lights or stars but that's ok! It was still a really fun quirky place to stay that was extremely comfortable and cute. Be aware: you can book an ingloo WITH or WITHOUT a bathroom. We booked one without a private bathroom so you have to walk a minute to the common building by the parking lot, it has multiple bathrooms and showers and a little kitchenette with a sink and espresso machine for use. It was like fancy camping. They had fresh towels, shampoo, etc. But we were surprised b/c we didn't read the fine print. Expensive but worth it for us for one night.

We had the most magical stay at the aurora igloo. If you are thinking of spending a night here, I would definitely recommend. This was definitely the highlight of my trip to Iceland. It felt amazing to sleep
