The property was on the older side. We had our dog so we were put in a pet friendly room. The was ok but not worth the money. There were stains on the carpet and the chair looked worn and stained. The bathroom looked old. There was a smell in the room also which was from other dogs. I’m not happy with pet friendly rooms. I think more effort could be made using the extra pet fee to keep the rooms smelling better and cleaner, especially when we’re paying the same as other guests who are getting nicer rooms. We have a small dog that is very clean and doesn’t smell the but rooms are always sub par for the amount of money we pay and the extra fee for the dog

Great not to hear highway noise and the rooms and hotel was clean and up to date. The in-house dining was lovely. It would have been a long walk to an eatery other than Arby’s. Pet friendly and EV stations!!

The hotel had friendly staff and comfortable, clean beds. Some of the facilities would benefit from a refresh. I appreciated the walk in showers; the tiles appeared clean, but mildew had built up in the grout between the tiles.

Hilton Doubletree, Rapid City, SD, disappointing

The only part of our stay that was very nice was the lobby, the bar and dining room area. Room 405: long black hair on bathroom floor, carpet badly frayed and dirty, electric plugs on headboard didn’t work nor did lamp nor the electrical plug between beds, luckily my husband had some multiples outlet plugs in the car to use, the freezer was unusable—iced completely shut, bed height so high off the floor that l, at 5’2”, required a boost to mount everytime I got into bed, AC unit really like cooling much better than heating and was hard to manage, and overall very low lighting, although bathroom was bright enough my husband could manage a shave. For a Hilton and the price we paid, it was pathetic! We checked out a day early and will NEVER stay again.

I wish we'd had longer because the room was super nice and the bed was SO comfortable. We even managed to get a good cup of coffee out of the little coffee pod machine in the room. We all know those machines never make a good cup of coffee but I swear this one did. Very quiet, even with Sturgis in town.
