I found the staff at the Roma Hotel to be very nice, and the coffee served here is excellent. The location is also fairly good, which is definitely a positive. I also appreciate that it appears to be a family-run place, which I generally prefer to support over large chain hotels. Unfortunately, everything else is downhill from there. The pictures online must have been taken many years ago, as the reality is very different. The lift is covered in graffiti, my bed was uncomfortable, and the furniture in the bedroom was falling apart. The bathroom had a hole in the wall and gave off a strong mildew smell, making the stay unpleasant. It’s clear this hotel hasn’t had any meaningful investment in recent years. While I wanted to like it because of the people and the family-owned feel, the overall condition made it very disappointing.

Hotel Roma Stay

A budget hotel, but everything was above standard, apart from the very basic breakfast. Room was very clean and A/C worked really well. Would highly recommended other travellers. Close to the railway station and easy walk to centre of the city. The only let down is there is no bag store and reception not manned throughout the day. But…..that said you have a great hotel for a great price.

Front desk closed from 1:00 to 6:00 on Sunday and we were not informed of this. As a result we arrived in a taxi at 2:00 to find the door locked. By chance, we ran into one of the kitchen staff leaving the premises. He let us in, otherwise we would have been stranded on the sidewalk with two large suitcases. Very unprofessional!

The accommodations were fairly clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were run down. I had to switch rooms because the electrical panel shorted out. The area looked abit sketchy at first but was ok once you walked around abit. It is within walking distances of all of the sights and the bus/trains.

This is a true “mom & pop” property. Some parts haven’t been “updated” but that lends to the charm of the property. It has character and is safe & clean.

You get what you pay for I suppose but I think they can still do better. The room had peeling paint everywhere and drain flies. The walls are very thin and people must have been smoking inside. On a positive note, the bed was clean and a place to rest my head which is about what I expected. The staff were kind. Overall it did the job but I would probably try to find another place next time.

The hotel is super close to the train station (about a 3-5 minute walk) and easy walking distance from the center of Ravenna. Staff was very kind and accommodating, breakfast was varied and delicious (with free cappuccino!) and everything in the room was up to standard. Would totally stay here again

Shabby outdated property. not worth the 160eur per night, at all. Rip off. Simple lobby reception, scary elevator, old and poor maintenance room. No place to hang a towel in the bathroom, no toilet paper roll hanger, no toothbrush glass, step corner floor between the bathroom and the room (they added a wooden floor without leveling the edge, so your toes will always bump on it) Odd a/c very noisy, unusable. No winter blanket. One morning no-one woke up and breakfast service started after 7.30 with a bunch of people in a rush to exit for the trade show. It should cost 1/4 of its price and it requires urgent renovation.
