Really comfortable and clean. Staff lovely. Only thing I would ask for is a glass for water as there were only small tea cups...otherwise brilliant

Good service helped this basic, tired hotel. Looks though it may have been great in the 1990’s. In saying that, it’s fairly priced, cheap even and the customer service is good. It also gets additional praise for the one tap bar ( fosters ). Ok for work digs, don’t take the Mrs.

Loved the architecture of this place. It is old so has its issues, but the rooms i was in were newly remodeled. The first room had some plumbing issues I brought to their attention immediately but it was Christmas and the next day way Boxing day so told them I understood if someone wasn't available right away but I never saw or heard from anyone and by the third day the issue spread from just the bathroom sink to all drains. So i had to bug them again and they had me move to a new room and gave me free breakfastvouchers for the remainder of my stay. I moved into the new room and didnt end up staying there that night and came back to the heater dripped water and soaked one of my shoes, it was the newest remodeled room but obviously still working out some issues. They offered to move me rooms again and i declined. The heater was working and i was able to dry my shoe on the bathroom heater by the time i was leaving. Staff was always very nice and attempted to keep making my stay a good one. I only used 1 of the 3 breakfast vouchers but the food was great and lots of fresh stuff at the buffet part of the breakfast.

Brilliant place to stay for family of 4 adults! Even had a microwave and fridge in the room, and plates and bowls and cutlery. Wasn’t expecting that! Really good value for money with 3 proper beds (not sofa beds)! Would definitely recommend. Really friendly guy checked us in.

Service from Katy at check in was incredible very helpful, chatty and smiley. Room was too small for a family room, heating on full with no way to adjust down made the room incredibly hot and uncomfortable. Overall room dated and in need of maintenance. To be fair to Katy she did offer to move us following feedback however it was late at that point and the child was asleep. Sure/best western id say are competing with travel lodge and premier inn and unfortunately for the same sort of prices this property does not compete. Service great let down by property.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Bed was clean and comfy. Free WiFi. In our room, everything that you would expect to be cleaned daily was cleaned to an decent standard but bit of mildew and whole thing could do with some TLC in terms of condition of building interior, fixings, fresh air and deep clean.

Great for a budget hotel

Detail is in the title really. It’s convenient, city centre location with ample free parking. Walking distance to city centre, uni campus and the train station. If you’re looking for cheerful, wallet friendly accommodation this is ideal. No frills but shouldn’t be expected at the price point. I stayed with my two nearly adult daughters in a room for three. Tight fit but we’re close :)

Room and breakfast was underwhelming. Nothing particularly bad and was okay for the price, but just a bit meh. Room was in a separate building to the rest of the site and didn't feel completely safe. Bathroom was very small and felt like it was in a converted cupboard rather than a typical hotel room ensuite.

Not the Best Experience. The windows definitely need better draughtproofing, as you could feel the wind coming through. Thankfully, the radiators were effective enough to keep the room warm. The kitchen in our apartment was lacking some basics, like extra glasses or anything for washing up. While the stay was manageable, these issues make it unlikely that I would choose to stay here again.

Charming hotel very close to many amenities and 15 minute walk to the town centre. University of Reading is 10 minutes walk. We really enjoyed our stay

The best I've found for the money

Basic accommodation at a basic price. Not pretty, but comfortable and clean with in room facilities. TV (not smart) screen was faulty in my room
