Overall condition of property best described as "worn-out." Paint missing from room doors. Broken ice machine in my complex. Door locks required multiple card swipes to open. Doors fail to close and latch, requiring active pulls to shut and latch. Interior of rooms clean and comfortable, but TV network lacked signals for half the channels. Toilet valves worn out, requiring jiggling of the tank lid to operate.

One of the Better Choices in Anderson
This is the second time we have stayed here and we anticipate more as my daughter moved up to Anderson a few months ago. This property is down the street from her and in a good location close to some restaurants and convenience stores like Walmart. Rooms are clean and we would have taken advantage of our patio outside except we only had one chair. The bathroom lighting is dark so felt it felt like my make up was going on a little heavy handed. The TV was spotty and didn't get some of the channels. It was ok with us. It was a nice way to disconnect. My only complaint is that they seem to not like the fact that you book through a third party. Both times I have stayed I have booked using some points and they make sure to mention it. This time we showed up at 2:30pm to an empty parking lot. I went in and after she mentioned that I booked through a third party, I was told we had to wait until 3pm to check in. Only 30 minutes, I wouldn't complain but it made me feel unwanted because I booked third party. I would book direct if their rates were as low as the third party rates were.

The front desk person was very friendly and helpful however the property is very run down and neglected. It does not look as the advertising pictures show. Pillows had yellow stains. Ice machine didn’t work. Badly in need of paint.

The room was clean and had a patio with seating. Staff was friendly and their continental breakfast had limited fare but was fresh and tasty! Woodside Grill dinner was excellent!

Don't let the pictures or the word "spa" deceive you... I thought it looked like a fairly nice place to stay but upon arriving I could tell it was not. Walking from the parking lot inside one of the circular room blocks was eye-opening - no landscaping, spiderwebs everywhere and peeled paint on most of the exterior doors. Going inside the room, we were hit with the old, musty smell of the room. Thank goodness I had some perfume with me to spray the whole room with (being hot, we couldn't open the windows). We almost booked another room elsewhere but the only time we were in our room was to sleep so we stayed. I didn't know what the Ascend Hotel Collection was but figured they would have a standard. After staying at this hotel, I would be leery of staying in any of this brand's properties.

We had issues with our pass key and the pool door. We had to be let in by other swimmers already inside the pool area. They said they had to get maintenance to get in the door and had issues with it too.

We’ve stayed at the property many times since they opened. It has definitely declined in its ratings. There was a lot of dust on the surfaces in the room, bathrooms are looking rundown, and breakfast was absolutely disgusting!!!! A lot of the trees and landscaping have died.
