When we arrived, there was trash strewn around on the ground outside the front entrance to the lobby. The trash bin out there was overflowing and there was additional trash scattered in the landscaping alongside the building.
Inside, the floor was absolutely filthy. The carpet going up the main staircase from the lobby to the 2nd floor and lining the 2nd floor hallway was so dirty and looked as though it had not been vacuumed in ages, nor cleaned in an even longer period of time.
These initial impressions did not bode well and we were anxious about what we would find in our room; however, the room was very clean. Worn, but clean.
Upon check-in, we told the young woman at the desk about the trash outside the front entranceway and when we came back later that evening, it had been picked up and the trash bin was emptied. When we left the next morning, the carpet on the stairs and in the hallways on the 2nd floor remained just as filthy as it was the evening prior.
