Perfect 3 day getaway for my wife and I. Parked our vehicle at check in and didn't move it until we checked out.
Parking was fine, front desk staff was great and very helpful. Room was clean and updated with a great ocean view. Beach access was very easy. Hotel conveniently located, we walked to all the bars and restaurants via the boardwalk.
We will definitely be back.
Also free coffee at any time.
Great location at the north end of the boardwalk. Quiet but only a short walk from dining and shopping. My only complaint would be the bathroom was really small.
My son has a severe seizure disorder. When we checked in at 4:00 the ac wasn't working and it was reported to the front desk. We waited almost an hour and no one came to the room. We came back to the room before 8pm and called once again to report that the AC still wasn't working. The maintenance guy questioned my son's seizure service dog in an inappropriate manner (the dog is noted on the reservation, he was wearing his vest, and his card was shown). Then my severely disabled, wheelchair bound son was asked to be removed from the room due to the fact that him and his dog couldn't fit along with the repair person. The three of us and the SERVICE dog were stuck in the corner of the room by the bathroom for over 30 minutes. We couldn't access his meds on time and they were over an hour late. As the repair man was exiting the room with the AC device, the wet unit soaked an entire box of adult diapers and diaper inserts belonging to my son. I had to drive 45 minutes and spend $122 to replace the incotenence supplies that were ruined. There wasn't an ADA parking space for a handicap accessible van. I called prior to booking to ensure that accommodations would be made for my family and I am extremely disappointed.
Overall I had a good experience. However I managed to lock myself out on Saturday (in the rain) and wasn’t able to get back in without management assistance. Initially I just went to the front desk and got an extra key. However I had double locked the door from the inside when I went out the courtyard door so I couldn’t get in (didn’t see an open screen door and wasn’t sure which one it was from the courtyard/no numbers from that entrance) I went downstairs again to the front desk (in the rain and barefoot since I didn’t expect to be locked out). The front desk manager was then summoned. He made no apologies and seemed udderly annoyed to have to help me. He offered no umbrella (which seemed rather obvious ) and took me to the condo entrance to go a different way, not really seeming to understand that I was locked out from the inside. Then finally we came back to the open rainy courtyard on the 2nd floor where he counted off which screened entrance was my room. As he was doing this I saw that the door was slightly open and my handbag was sitting on the bed, so I opened the door since I knew that it was mine. Instead of graciously saying how glad he was, he proceeded to ask me for ID because apparently he heard that my room was 213 not 214 like I told him. All in all a very disappointing encounter and highly unprofessional.

Liked: Staff & service
Loved the location. Walkable and beach wasn’t as crowded as central rehoboth. Didn’t like that our room wasn’t cleaned until our 3rd day there. Needed to ask for extra towels. Pictures look very modern and in person it’s pretty outdated.

To be fair this hotel is conveniently located to everything. My kids enjoyed the park across the street and we stayed at the beach just about all day. The room is not somewhere you want to hang out in. Nothing fancy just a place to sleep. The staff was super helpful.
The staff was wonderful and the hotel was clean and well cared for. The parking spaces were difficult to maneuver into, and it would have been nice to have a breakfast. Otherwise, an amazing stay.
Nice and close to beach. Convenient parking area.
Close walk to Rehoboth Avenue for shopping.
Very friendly hotel staff; lady at the front desk wascespecially nice.
Overall, we had a nice stay at the Henlopen. The location is great- perfect access to the beach in a quiet part of town. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The beds were very comfortable. The only negative was that the room wasn't as clean as it could have been when we checked in (there was still hair and a Q-tip on the floor). But we would come back!
