First time back to Reno in about 12 years. J’s Resort was the perfect stopover. Everything was as “new”. The service was excellent, the room was large and immaculate, the food (in the Buffett) was excellent, overall I’d give 6 stars! Would definitely stay again…

This "resort" is honestly just an overpriced old ass building , built in the 1960s, barely "renovated" as jresorts claims. All they did was change the carpet and replace crappy useless furniture and appliances. Claims to have coffee/tea in the room. What I did get was hot brown water ALL over the counter/dresser crap combo and ruined work clothes. Site also claiming to have spa quality products for bathing yet only had cheap institution grade all over soap in the dispenser in the shower. No soap anywhere to wash my hands or face, total babe bones in Aspen 944. How terrible. I went to desk to perhaps get some lotion or something and was not greeted but rather a groan from the desk lady no help, just attitude. I got a decent deal because of Expedia and that's great. But for what I got for that money, I shoulda went to motel 6, better service with a smile at least. And lotion as a motel/hotel should provide. I will never get a room at J Resort in Reno Nevada, and will try to deter anyone who is trying to get a room there. They suck and are waaaay to expensive for what's offered.

It was a fun and nice place to stay. Room was very clean. Modern contemporary furniture and wall paper made it feel very luxurious. Bed was nice but the pillows were very hard. I did ask staff if they had softer pillows, unfortunately they said no.

The buffet was AWFUL! We paid a total of $82 plus dollars for the buffet and everything about it was dry and cold.. I even mentioned it to the young Manager about the lettuce being wilt and nothing was change he just left it

It is relatively new hotel compared to near by places and two blocks from strip of hotels/casinos. Room is spacious and pleasant. There are few things to consider - shower flow is random, sometimes faster and plenty, and suddenly it slows soo much that you can get stuck for a while in the shower - probably manageable. Thermostat set such that max temperature room can go is 72F only (thermostat allows to change upto 74F). Though it could be manageable to some, this was an issue for us. Reported to hotel personnel to increase beyond 72F but the showed-up-tech in our room is not friendly and summarized that we have to deal with it. Ended up wearing think clothes - not so comfortable when you want to relax in room. At the time of checkout, staff is friendly and said they will look into them.
