The room was very clean, and as party of 3 they had already prepared the extra bed for us which was very nice. The location was convenient especially if you’re driving a car, parking was available right in front (or in back) of hotel. We had an issue with our door code not working when we came back late at night (11:30pm) but I was able to use the monitor/device by the front door to call for help. She was able to quickly get it resolved.

This was our first stop in Reykjavik and the staff were wonderful! Good recommendations for food (it's not downtown, but gas and groceries right there and an easy drive into the city). We had to leave early the next morning and they even packed a breakfast for us to take on the road. Would stay there any time!

First off, we were on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. We had been traveling already for 3 weeks and had 2 large suitcases to carry up the stairs. Very beat up hotel. Furniture battered etc. no Kleenex in room. Only shampoo in shower. Small room but very depressing. 2nd morning at 6:30 AM the fire alarm went off. People were obviously smoking in their room. I only stayed here because we were meeting a group nearby. On a positive note, the breakfast was decent and the staff nice. I cannot recommend this hotel.

Checking in was a puzzle. You have to go to the main office downtown to access any of the hotels

My husband and I loved our 3-day stay there. The rooms are less conventional than other hotels with nice touches like a bed canopy and soft lighting. We had a 3rd floor room and appreciated the quiet. The bathroom toiletries are great quality and eco friendly. They are truly dedicated to being so. There are recycling bins throughout the hotel and the cleaning staff had separated bags of recycling from rooms after checkout. That was impressive! I really appreciated their focus on this. The main floor lobby/breakfast area is open throughout the day and you are welcome to complementarity coffee and tea. We enjoyed sitting there to relax after days of sightseeing. It had a warm, café vibe. The buffet breakfasts were the best we had during our time in Iceland. The staff are also friendly and very helpful. We stayed at 10 hotels during our trip around the country. Hotel Eyja was our favourite!

The hotel is in a great location, close all downtown amenities, museums, plazas, ect. Access to most of bus routes. Service is excellent, rooms are nice, clean with comfortable beds.

My stay at Grandi Hotel was excellent. A lot of people checking in and out, however the wait wasn’t too long and the staff were helpful and friendly. Stayed for 3 nights. Rooms were cleaned daily upon request and it was quiet on the 5th floor. Bar staff were also helpful and offered great service. Overall highly recommend if you want to stay in that area of Reykjavik.
