My family and I stayed at Hotel Duus the night before our early departure from KEF airport. The location of the hotel was about 8-10min drive from KEF which makes it easy for us to get to the airport for our very early morning flight. The hotel was only accessible by taxi. Taxi from KEF to hotel charged us $51 but taxi going back to KEF was $34. I knew the first taxi overcharged us for an 8min drive. The hotel has a restaurant that was convenient for us when we arrived hungy. The check in process took some time because there was no one at the front desk, Eventually, the same guy at the restaurant walked to front desk of hotel and checked us in. The room was new, clean, and spacious. We were very happy with the room. It also faced the harbor which was nice. Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel. There was only one thing that I was disappointed with-- the free shuttle to the airport has been discontinued 2 years ago but Expedia still has it as an amenity which is one of the main reasons I booked this hotel. So don't expect a free shuttle service. You will need to get a taxi.

Great for airport. Carry your own luggage upstairs
Excellent hotel for the airport. Bed was very comfortable and room ensuite. Early check-in very helpful. Power and USB Points in bedroom. Check-in experience was poor. I am a pensioner and had to carry a heavy suitcase upstairs as I was told that the lift was broken. Shower was hopeless as its flooded the bathroom.

Linda was very helpful in arranging a prompt check-in and ordering a taxi for 4.30 am. The dining room is cozy and the food was delicious. The lobster salad was fantastic.

Very poor hotel conditions. 1 pillow and a no free airport shuttle as advertised. Outrageous taxi fees for less than 10 min drive. Dirty room, tv didn’t work, remote had never been cleaned, shower sprayed water everywhere, buckled floors. Carpet in hallways gross and peeling up. No elevator to get to basement and no assistance with luggage. If you have a disability and need help with your luggage good luck.

Hotel on harbor. Nice view of harbor from room. Great resturant in hotel! Great service at checkin and resturant. Parking is very close. Elevator was unique.

I arrived after midnight and I was given a room in the first floor. WHen I entered the room there were some people sleeping there already. It was very uncomfortable. It took the staff a long time to figure out what had happened and give me my room. Not a pleasant experience. The hotel is very basic and didn't seem well kept.

We have stayed here previously and were super impressed by the family staff, excellent food and the closeness to the airport. A huge plus was the free transport to the airport. This time our checkin was delayed to 4 pm when the sign behind the desk says 2:00pm and now there’s no shuttle to airport! This may affect our next booking with them! The food was exceptional, expensive, yes, but even their free breakfast was delicious. They offer breakfast even at 4:00 am to accommodate early flights. I wish they offered gluten free bread but that is the only negative thing I can state about their meal service. Our rooms overlooked the bay which was delightful.

Great location and clean
My flight into Iceland was delayed by quite a long time so my time at Hotel Duus was cut a lot shorter than I was hoping for. What I was able to glean about the hotel though, was that the place is very close to Keflavik airport, is very easy to find and is very clean. Unfortunately, I was only here for the evening but everything was clean, the gentlemen at the front desk were very helpful in checking in at a very late hour and getting a taxi back to the airport at a pretty early time. If I were to come back to Keflavik and need to stay the evening at somewhere close to the airport and easy to find, I would definitely come back.

Trying to find a staff member was next to impossible. It took forever to check in and we were the only ones there. The room was small and dirty, with no view of the water. Our window and patio door would not open. I was charged more than the price I was quoted when I booked on Expedia. And when we tried to take a shower, the room flooded. Avoid this place at all costs.

Very clean, great spot for convenience. Having a full kitchen was amazing. Shared bath and toilet felt a little awkward, but we rarely saw anyone else, and never had to wait.

I think this is a great hotel for one night when you need a close stay to the hotel, but wouldn't want to stay here longer than that. It was very noisy with people leaving early in the morning for early flights. The room was great though.

I would give this Hotel 5 stars, But the hot water in the bathroom sink dripped out, Absolutely no pressure. No tissue in room where as much as I paid for the room should have supplied it. Both the night clerk and day clerk were friendly, But I wouldn’t stay here again
