Small rooms, issues with washroom overheating, no elevator but overall this was a great property. You can't beat the location and the common areas were a nice touch to have somewhere to hangout since the rooms are quite small. Very close to attractions and walkable to bus pickup locations.

The noise is all night long, location is great but not worth it because of noise. Breakfast is the worst European breakfast I have ever had. Huge disappointment. One good thing is the location. Would NOT stay here again.

Hotel in the center of everything downtown Reykjavik. Note that rooms facing the church do feel a little noisy but the view at night is wonderful.

2025 Culture Night

The three day stay in one of the hotels solo rooms on the 2nd floor was met my expectation. The staff help me find my way around the city and book a tour and bus to the airport. The location is central to walking around central city. The only disappoint was the small bathroom and shower.

Heard a fan on all night - staff tried to help - might have been in another room - too late to wake the occupants. Offered ear plugs. Staff were amazing! Loved the free tea and coffee as well as breakfast to go!

Find a different hotel if you’re going on a cruise

Surprised we put on the third floor without an elevator being available. The front desk had to leave to help us with our heavy luggage.The bathroom was probably the worst design I’ve ever seen a shower curtain and the water ran on the floor other than the fact that it was also very small. I’ve never seen this in a hotel specially, it’s such a high price. additionally, they have an extra charge if you arrive early and want to check into the room if it’s ready.

Nice hotel, great location, annoying shaped room

Very nice hotel with great location. Only thing that was awkward was the shape of the floor 4 rooms, with it being in the roof and all it was slanted and made getting around the room difficult. Beyond that free coffee and by all the sights and cafes you need.

Perfect downtown place for a visit

This is located in the perfect spot for your Reykjavik stay, right downtown across from the big church. The service was top notch. Everyone was helpful and cheerful. The breakfast was great! They had a large and healthy selection for breakfast items that don’t need to be cooked while you wait. Our room was very small, but it was clean and cute. The beds weren’t amazing, but for less than a week they were perfectly fine. The bathroom was spacious and clean.

Perfect for first night in Iceland !!

Our room was tiny, but had everything we needed, and overlooked the majestic cathedral. We could watch the people come and go from our big windows, and hear the church bells ring every 15 minutes. This did not affect our sleep, everything was nice and quiet at the hotel. We had a great experience at hotel Leifur Erickson and I highly recommend it. It’s in a great location and parking is easy, across the street near the cathedral. Dining options are also easy to get to from the hotel, and it’s at the top of a very good shopping street.

We really struck lucky!

Fantastic hotel, so well positioned in the city. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Very clean and welcoming hotel. Particularly liked the complimentary hot chocolate (and teas & coffees) in the lobby!
