Excellent location if you have a car. Not good if need public transportation. Bus service is bad on weekends especially Sunday. We waited 40 minutes for a bus on Sunday. We had to use taxis which were quite expensive.

Favorite hotel

We’ve been to Iceland several times and the Reykjavík Lights is our favorite hotel in the city! They have friendly staff, great location, awesome breakfast, free parking and clean rooms.

Me encantó hospedarme en este hotel. Si bien la ubicación se encuentra un poco lejos del centro, si rentan auto es una excelente opción. El hotel tiene estacionamiento, las habitaciones están súper bien y el staff es maravilloso. También tiene desayuno incluido lo cual es un plus. El año pasado me hospedé en un hotel en el centro y si bien es cierto la ubicación fue excelente, las camas eran muy incómodas, no limpiaban la habitación y no había estacionamiento lo cual, dificultó la posibilidad de tener estacionamiento gratuito.

Great stay! Staff members were all amazing. Breakfast had wide variety. Room was very clean and perfect size for solo travel. Far from the downtown area tho, about 30 min walk and 15 min bus ride. Overall enjoyed!

Last minute decision, very happy we chose here.

Great stay, the staff were so very kind and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was great, lots of variety and even when we left super early in the morning for the airport, they offered coffee and coissants to go.

Excellent Hotel

I loved this hotel and would stay here again!! Checking in was easy and the staff was polite, personable and friendly. The room was clean, comfortable and functional. You have to put your key card in a slot in order to turn on the lights! The room was thermally heated. I was on the first floor and even though there is a road past the parking lot, it was very quiet. The bathroom was clean and everything worked perfectly, The free breakfast was great and offered many choices of food and drinks. There is a bar in the lobby with happy hour from 4- 7. There is a great pizza restaurant next door and a vegan restaurant which I did not try. If you book travel through Flybus or BusTravel, they pick you up right at the front door. I highly recommend Reykjavik Lights!!!

I love this hotel, but…

Check in is 1500 with a 30 euro early check in fee. Coming from not Iceland, I was on a red eye. I arrived at like 0600. I cannot be the only person coming from abroad with an overnight flight. They had a room all ready to go for us; zero extra work required. I’m not sure why accommodations aren’t made for overnight travelers if the rooms are ready anyway. Otherwise this hotel is great! It felt clean and comfortable. The breakfast is on point, the staff is super friendly and helpful (except on the fee issue), and it’s not too far from city center. Highly recommend staying here. After 1500.

The hotel is very well run. The staff are extremely friendly. We experienced a noisy neighbour and they were very empathetic and helped us to resolve the issue. They went the extra mile by gifting me a lovely note and chocolate for my birthday! Very easy access to your bus pick ups and convenient bus stop across the road into the centre. Breakfast was good and well organised
