I had a nice stay here. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I did not know how close we were to the railroad tracks but ear plugs were provided. The train is loud. The breakfast was nice, it had the basics; scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, bagels, pastries, bread, cereal, etc.
Poor check in experience, staff was fiddling with her phone the entire time. Also I booked a king but was told it was on the second floor and the elevator was out of order, so I would have to either drag my luggage upstairs or take a two double bed room on the first floor.
Cable was not working and the tv had no antenna channels. Tried to call front desk and phone was not working. Went to front desk to report television issue, to be told they are having problems with the connection and we need to reset the box ( which incidentally was on the floor behind very heavy furniture) The box was reset by us twice and the television never worked.
The room was dusty. The mattress springs could be felt on one of the beds. Luckily the other bed was okay.
Shower head has to be used on lowest setting to get acceptable pressure
Alarm clock was tucked in a drawer (not working)
Ear plugs were on night stand with no explanation accompanying it. I later found out that a train blows though right behind the property at 3:30 am.
Windows were unlocked (first floor unit).
Internet was slow WHEN you were able to connect.
Terrible conditions, definitely sub standard for any hotel, especially one that is advertised by Expedia and is part of the Choice Hotels brand.
Never again.
This was a late night stop on our road trip. We got there very late and tired, first thing i noticed was the pool was closed, checked in for a room on the 2nd floor and the elevator was out of order. Stairs were extremely dirty. Get to the room and the light switch doesnt work so had to use the bathroom light to see. There was a drawer under the tv that wouldnt stay shut. And a chair that had a very weird stain down it. I wasnt sitting in it. It was so late i didnt complain, just went to sleep and got up early and left.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The hotel was close to our venue. Only one nearby restaurant that wasn't fast food. The pool was closed, the elevator was not working and my room had a moldy smell. I could have asked to move but i was next door to a friend. The french toast at breakfast was barely edible. And why offer french toast when you have waffles? Only hard boiled eggs available at breakfast.
Our room was very large and comfortable. We had a separate bedroom with another tv in it. The other room had a comfortable chair and sofa. When we saw ear plugs on the nightstand and looked out the window we noticed the train tracks. We didn’t use the plugs and although a train indeed went by at 3am, only I heard it, it was not that loud. The only other negative is that they removed the hot tub from the indoor pool area. Their breakfast was very good and included scrambled eggs, waffles, sausage, bagels, fruit and yogurt. We will definitely stay there again! Thanks!
There was hair in the washroom
The washroom tub does not drain water, its half blocked
The WIFI was laggard, called reception and they said they have only one WIFI link and its sometimes slow.
In 2024- The age of Fibre optic internet connectivity this hotel has WIFI lags, imagine!
The swimming pool had way too much chlorine in it. My kids had their eyes itchy and burning. The pool water was also unclean, there was visible algae.
The gym had 4 machines, of which 2 were broken under maintenance.
Terrible experience with this hotel.
The staff was lazy and not willing to help.
Zero Customer service. They were busy chatting in the back office when we needed help.
Another good value hotel chain destroyed.
Forgettable experience.
Expedia should not list such poor quality hotels on here.

Ok for the price. Be careful of the pool.
It was an ok place to stay for the night. The sheets were not changed prior to our arrival. The fridge was not level and would fall over every time we opened it. And the pool was extremely chlorinated to where our swim suits had changed completely different colors and unfortunately my kids were in pain after.
They had taken showers immediately after to rinse it off. The front desk did inform us later they closed the pool to try to fix the situation. My one son was too scared to go back in and my other was reluctant tho tried. After 10 minutes he was in pain and had to get out.
Breakfast was ok and stuff were extremely nice. Other than the pool the price was right for what we got. Loved being next to the train tracks

Needs to do better
I booked a room at Country Inn and Suites because my family was going to enjoy Kings Dominion's Winter Fest and bring in the new year. The room was booked several days in advance. Unfortunately, we did not get to stay. As I rolled in on my knee scooter with a cast on my foot and begin the check in process, the receptionist waits to inform me that the elevator was out of service and we would have to take the stairs (to our room on the 3rd floor). HOW was I supposed to climb 3 fights of stairs in a cast??? I couldn't believe I had to point out the obvious of what was seen when I entered the hotel - I had mobility issues. Then she proceeds to tell me that there is no other room available. So I asked for a refund. Her mouth said okay; however, she didn't move, except to start typing on her phone. I began checking the 2 hotels next door.
Apparently, she looked up one because she told me they were full as well. She still hadn't processed my refund. Finally, I found a room at the other one and asked about my refund. She told me she hadn't processed it in case the other hotel didn't have a room. Even if they didn't, my situation still had not changed - I was unable to go up the stairs. So finally she processed the refund and immediately was back on her phone on a private call as I signed the paper. At rate, a simple email about the elevator could have helped avoid this awful experience.

Not bad for what we paid
The room wont bad but all the mirrors were dirty and only half a roll of toilet paper but the pool was terrible my partner and i were only in the pool for 15 minutes and the water bleached our clothes the chlorine was so strong we had to open a window to keep from passing out
We went to King's Dominion, this hotel is just seconds, the entrance and exit are literally across the street. Hotel was clean, family friends. There was even a family we met at the hotel that we bumped into at the park later that day.

The room was safe and pretty quite. Outdated furniture, small pillows. A good value if you're passing thru for the night.
Before the stay, I called regarding early check-in and was told to arrive around 1:30 p.m. When I arrived at 1:30 p.m., the associate advised me of a $25 fee or to wait until 3:00 p.m. I left and returned at 3:00 p.m.
The entry light was not working, the tub drain stopper was on the tub, and hairs were left on the bathroom floor.
