Small but comfortable room. The bed was comfortable, which I can't often say at hotels in general. The facility is old but has clearly had some renovation in the room, such as new floors. Still, there was a little peeling on the walls and things like that.
All in all though, a very pleasant and comfortable stay.
The room was okay for the price. Wasn’t the cleanest, and the beds were comfortable. Depending on the time of day and if other people and other rooms were using the shower, depended on if you were able to have hot water or not. Late in the afternoon/evening there was no hot water.
Odd smell to the room. Front lobby attendant was very attentive and addressed our concerns. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom could have been cleaner. Overall room appeared to be clean. Location was great! Directly across from Kings Dominion.
Stay was great until the end. At the end my wife and I woke up to having no outlets and our phones dead. Tried calling the front desk to try and get this fixed little did I know my room phone did not work. I walked to the front desk in the pouring rain, again because the phones did not work. I was able to speak to a front desk representative named Emy who was to the most least of help. She stated she needed to see if it worked and then came to my room and worked her way in to check and proceeded to yell at my wife and I because we wanted it fixed and to speak with a manager. Emy proceeded to be rude throughout the process until checkout time.
Nicest Red Roof Inn I've ever been to. SO clean, well-lit, easy check-in and out, and my puppy stayed free! Only issue was that the air conditioning apparently let a lot of humidity in, because every morning I woke up with my hair glued to my head. LOL! Small price to pay for such a wonderful visit. Perfect location, perfect accommodation. I will be back in November for more dog shows!
I stayed here for 1 night with my granddaughters for a day at Kings Dominion. It was a perfect location, clean and safe. It looks like they take care of the property. I was pleasantly surprised and I would stay again if I was going to Kings Dominion.
The outside or the building looks very worn out, there was mud and dirt all over the walkways and stairs. Plus the stairs were wood and look very worn out.
Some of the rooms had inside chairs sitting outside,very tacky.
The worst part is about 11:30 at night and the water in the room stopped working I called the front desk and they said they were working on it. I went to bed the next morning I woke up and the water was running again but it came out with a lot of air so thank goodness I chose to brush my teeth with a bottle of water but I did shower unfortunately. I left the hotel and went across the street to a convenience store to get some ice for my cooler and saw a sign on their door that a water main had broken and there was a boil advisory. So it's absolutely disgusting that the hotel did not warn their guests not to drink or use that water My plan on contacting the department of health
Facility not well managed. Trash all over exterior areas. Shower/bath drain plug broken off and sitting on side of tub. Shower gel dispenser fell off wall of shower when touched. Local watermain break caused boil advisory and shut down nearby Kings Dominion park for two days. Facility never notified any of the lodgers. Found outfrom local news. Overall a terrible experience. Decided to give it a second try, but even more disappointed. Never again.
Arrived at 9:30 AM from a 9 hour drive. Asked the counter worker about possible early check in. He informed me the room was not ready, and was really intrigued if I was going to Kings Dominion. Turns out there was a water main break THE DAY BEFORE. This guy knew two things, he knew the water was contaminated and he knew Kings Dominion would be closed all day. He never divulged that information. They put one single sign up in the lobby at the request of the water commissioner, none on doors of the units, none on the ice machine, none on the water fountain. Don’t stay here
The bed and pillows were perfect. You can tell that they gave it a good try fixing the place up. Only stayed for the bed and being tired. Coffee maker was not cleaned and had "old" coffee bag still inside. Disappointing.
The first room had a smoky smell in my wife has to change. We quickly received a new room and that room had a cockroach. We then called hotels.com which gave us a full refund and helped us book a new hotel somewhere else.
