I arrived 2 hours before check-in time and they said they had a room available for me but if I paid 300 reais. The shower didn't work, breakfast was poor and didn't taste fresh. I would not recommend this hotel.

Waited 25 minutes to finally get lukewarm water for a shower. Breakfast dining was crowded and extremely loud with children playing noisy games on their devices. They didn’t have a small kiosk for toothpaste or snacks.

The property is located across the beach, the hotel looks decent with nice rooftop bar and pool, the room is clean but it needs some fixing (lamps above the head/bed keep falling out) the bed needs to be replaced it was very used it lost it shape. The 2 receptions were very arrogant ( forgot their names, tall guys one was black) we were overcharged for the mini bar at the time of checkout, even tho we only took few items. Area around the hotel is not so nice, lots of homeless people and it reeks of urine… as soon as you step on the beach you wont have any rest, lost of hustlers selling anything from sunglasses, food to weed, they don’t leave you alone for a second… I don’t know if we will be back to Copacabana beach anytime soon, I think downtown is much calmer and nicer with less beggars

Amazing styling very Boho 80’s chic
The Astoria Palace could be a cute Boutique hotel. But the olé Gal needs a little love. My room features a fiberglass insert jacuzzi that also serves as the shower. Maybe in the 80’s not 2024 she has a little age on her. They do have free wifi, however they do Not have enough band width to run the televisions it kicks you off some and it reminds me of AOL, Dont get in a hurry and go to the beach you Dont want to watch TV. Housekeeping was amazing they stayed in the background and were very helpful. If you are an oldish man like me and you like to sleep on a brick so you can bend over or stand up without pain; this is not your place. 13 days 3 massages the matress made me walk like an old man. The location is spot on the beach is across the street. Be very cautious of a hotel with no bad reviews. This one tidies up what you get to read. The hotel is safe, but she needs some love. There will be no second stay by me at this one. One and way done!

* Excellent location on the beach. * Staff was nice - got early check-in. * Two (2) star at best. Not even a window! * Two people - only 2 grey towels? Ugh - the bathroom in particular feels dirty. * Wifi sucks! No amenities. * We spent only 1 uncomfortable night.
