Just eh.

Clean room. Beds were horribly uncomfortable. Feather pillows on the bed, which posed some issues with allergies. Chair in the room wheel broke, thankfully we weren't charged. The staff were very friendly. Pool was wonderful. Hot tub was great, perfectly hot. Handicap accessible pool area. Parking situation is a little iffy, but manageable.

Great location for Mayo visits. Connected to the lower level walkways, shops, etc. Older building but remodeled and nicely maintained. Only one mark against it - room number directional signage was incorrect on the 6th floor. Needs fixed. Sent us in the wrong direction.

The only reason we stay at the Kahler Grand is it’s close to Mayo Clinic. I feel it’s expensive just to stay there for less than a day.

No Hot Water, No Help, No Accountability

⭐️ 1-Star Review – Kahler Grand Hotel ⭐️ I spent $172 on the room + $25 for parking and this stay was a nightmare from start to finish. I was in Rochester for Mayo Clinic treatment and informed the staff of my disabilities (PPPD, PTSD, severe anxiety). Instead of being accommodating, my experience left me more stressed and exhausted before an important medical appointment. Issues I experienced: 1. Check-in Disaster – My reservation was misplaced for over 20 minutes. Staff insisted I booked at a sister hotel before finally finding it. 2. Poor Navigation & Signage – Was told to park in the garage but given no direction. First elevator was “employees only,” with no signs, and hallways had no clear guidance. 3. Room #1 – No working A/C (room was unbearably hot). Shower only had ice-cold water. 4. Room #2 – Same issue: no hot water even after running it for several minutes. 5. Management Failure – I asked for a manager, was promised a call back within an hour, and never received one. 6. No Compensation – Despite repeated failures, I wasn’t offered a refund, credit, waived parking, or any gesture to make things right. ⚠️ Impact: As a disabled guest traveling for medical care, these failures left me anxious, stressed, and sleepless. The lack of care, accountability, and basic function (like hot water!) is completely unacceptable. Bottom Line: This hotel is outdated, poorly managed, and not guest-focused — especially for those coming to Mayo Clinic for treatment.

I loved this place. It was immaculate and and the staff was so friendly and helpful. I loved the dining options, especially Ruth's Chris and QDuobo. It was an easy walk or subway to Mayo clinic. I liked the 24-hour self-serve Market and the lobby was beautiful. I will be staying there again for sure. Perfect hotel!

We've spent a lot of time in Rochester and stayed at quite a few hotels. Overall, this is my second favorite. The Kahler is a pretty decent hotel located extremely conveniently to the main Mayo campus. If you need to be at the main campus, you really can't get more convenient than this hotel. We had exceptional service with the front desk and much of the other staff but much less good service from one of the valets, resulting in the average service rating. The hotel was pretty clean, and very pretty. It has a nice vending market for snacks and incidentals, but unfortunately, none of the stuff I needed. As far as comfort, the bed and chair were a little less than comfortable. All in all, you'll probably be satisfied with your stay.
